Facebook Ads - Use Mobile or not?

Hello there!

I am running 5 ads on Facebook right now, but 80% of the clicks on the Ads come from mobile devices, the ads go to a website like Amazon and Ebay.

My question is.. Do you think people on the phone will buy anything? I don't know why but i don't believe that people buy stuff from a Smartphone, i belive more in desktop clicks...

What do you think? Is mobile clicks good?

I was thinking the same, but then I asked a few people around me and yes, alot of them use their smartphone to buy stuff. Some dont even have a desktop computer (or rarely use them).

I believe the conversion rate is a bit lower though, but you wouldnt want to miss the sales from mobile traffic I guess.

You'll never be profitable paying $1 per click, when the most you can make from one sale is $3 as you said.

You need to get your clicks in the .15-.20c range if you hope to see any kind of profit. I'll give you a good example of the figures I need to see to generate a positive ROI.

        .20c clicks X $100 = 500 clicks
15% CTR from my presale = 75 clicks to the offer
        5% CVR = 5 sales @$40 each = $200 = 200% ROI.

150-200% ROI is what I usually shoot for, but I can be happy with slightly less. I'm not pretending that achieving this is easy, but I'm able to reliably reach these numbers everyday because I've done extensive testing in my market, and I've been doing it for years. Don't be fooled though, I work 12 hours a day to keep everything running smooth.

Once you know how to get cheap targeted clicks, you need to optimize your landing pages. Once that's done, you need to find a good converting offer, that coincides with the type of traffic your sending.

192 clicks isn't nearly enough to gauge success or failure.

Actually, that's not accurate at all. A typical conversion rate of 4% means fewer than 8 buyers on 192 clicks. When you account for statistical variances, you could very easily get 8 sales in your next 10 clicks. The conversion rate can also be much higher, depending on lots of factors.

What you are doing is thinking like a new internet marketer - assuming no instant gratification means failure.

Most IMers think the same way and that's why most fail. Once you get to 1000 or 2000 clicks, we can "start" to consider the results. Until then, your sample size is entirely too small.

Google is changing their algorithm again, all the sites will have to be mobile optimized. I think that's enough of an indicator of how big mobile traffic has grown.

I found it hard to get sales from Facebook ads too. They tend to work best for lead capture instead. People often aren't in the mood for buying when they are on facebook?

This is why I only use facebook to build a readership for my brands. I then have an audience that I can build a relationship with and sell to over and over again - much like an email list.

You are wrong at this point. People who are using smartphones are purchasing products more than desktop users. So, never avoid mobile traffic.
