Facebook Page Traffic Pattern

7 replies
Hi,
I have facebook page which has more than 5.6 million likes and i am posting several links to drive traffic to my website. Now there is something weird happening i.e when i post link from a very new domain it gets very good traffic more than 3K concurrent users and with time like after few weeks no matter how much good content i post it will only drive 200-300 even sometime 100-150 concurrent users. This is just weird never happened to me. I have to create a new domain and install new wordpress and then fill up with content and then for few weeks it gets good traffic and after few weeks same thing happens traffic drops.

Any Social Guru can explain above traffic pattern? What i am doing wrong and how to control this.

    People get bored of the same thing?

    Also it could be to do with Facebook not showing your post's to as many people over time?

    A lot of factors.

    Nice page though! Thought about monatizing using t-spring or something?

      @marketermatt

      Basically i posted same stuff over and over again from different domains (For testing) and new domains drive very good traffic on the other hand old domain just dont get any traffic as compared to new domain.
      Do facebook rank domains? or block or something?

      I could use t-spring but about 80% of my audience is female and most of them are from India who do not buy often. I target USA audience which is second largest, it bring some extra money via CPA offers.

      Started 2007 and that time it was really to get likes, i paid other page owners to share my page on their pages.

    Wow, 5M likes is a lot! Congratulations are in order!

    The problem with the traffic might be that your fans only see your latest posts, maybe they don't scroll down to see the links you posted weeks ago. Facebook users (and other social media users too) only click on what they see it's recent, they probably don't bother to scroll down much. So don't worry, you're doing nothing wrong.

    Update: I start getting hits but its not like we used to get but traffic is getting stable again. I think it was facebook problem they might be changing something from backend. Its getting good with each passing day.

    @Sladee556 I think its not the case with me, All of my posts had reach from 50-90K but for links it was 3-5K overall. Just a week ago link reach used to be 90-120K at average. Plus reach is consistent with link. All of links got similar reach.

    sorry to hear that, one thing that might help you here, is don't install/more your site on every domain you create. Just re-direct that domain to the old site after you shared you stuff on that page, this will save you hours of work and it's pretty much the same thing.
