        You can use free methods such as blogging, youtube marketing, forum marketing, and facebook marketing from your personal profile.

        Include call-to-actions and cliff-hangers that drive people back to you Facebook fanpage.

        For example, find a forum in your niche with a lot of traffic and activity and start posting their regularly so people see you as an authority.

        Then include a link to your Facebook fan page in your signature.

        Another example, find other facebook fan pages in the same niche with a lot of activity and start engaging in the threads.

        If people see you leaving insightful comments (not spam), they become curious and click on your fan page to see what you're all about.

        Regardless of what free methods you choose, they take consistency, so you have to show up every single day to reap the benefits. But if all you can afford is free then that's what you have to do.

    Uhm.. first thing you should do: browse through the forums! There are literally hundreds of threads that talk about how to increase number of likes on a facebook page.
    Second thing you should do: apply whatever it is you found useful: be more active, share more stuff, ecc., ecc.
