Linking Facebook Image to a specific URL

Hello,
I know this has changed with time, but does anyone have a preferred method of linking a facebook timeline image with a website page URL? Free or paid.
Many thanks, jeff

When you click on a Facebook image that I added to facebook, I want it to link to my webpage. Usually the image opens up larger in a new Facebook lightbox.

  • I believe you are referring to posts which have a large image preview, but link directly to the website when clicked.
    Like this post below:

As you can see, the image looks about the same size and the preview of facebook photos, however it links directly to the website when clicked.

In order for you to do this, your website/article must contain an image that is between 600 x 315 pixel - 1200 - 630 pixels.

When you wish to share this article, you must simply paste the link in the status box. Do not "add photos/videos", simply make sure to post the link and facebook will automatically grab a couple of preview images. Scroll through them to pick the one you've optimized.

If the image preview comes up large, you've done it right.
If you get a small image preview, try posting it anyway, because it doesn't always work.

I highly recommend you read through facebook Content Sharing Practices here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs...best-practices

For a better understanding. Hope it helps!

  • Do one think, paste your website URL in your image and then post in the Facebook pages of your friends. It will help your website to get more visitors by getting the reach of them easily.

No, it looks spammy, instead try posting some quality content frequently eventually you will get organic traffic to your site. Use some web analytics tools or social media management tools to manage your site or accounts.
