    Or did they follow you because you followed them first?

    Social Media accounts are no different then email list accounts. You need to see how your account will act when you send them something. Step 1. you need to make sure the traffic is following you because your the expert in their eyes otherwise your wasting your time.

    The number of followers isn't a relevant metric. Many times I've got 0-10 clicks from articles of mine shared by accounts having impressive 6-figure followers.

    The number of retweets you can generate is also a tricky metric. See this tweet? => https://twitter.com/RT4MGWV/status/603409063133622272 That guy shared one of my articles and that tweet got 251 retweets. Someone may say, "Awesome!" But... guess how many clicks were generated. Zero Not very unexpected if you check the original poster account though. Pyramid scheme.

    Engagement? Yet another tricky metric. If you created the engagement by sharing famous quotes or talking about the latest football match and then share unrelated things, SEO, whatever, it doesn't mean that the engagement is good of anything and the people talking about football will be interested in your SEO ebook.

    Nowadays is hard to tell for sure if that would be a success or not quite much, however, you should give it a try with the data that you have exposed. It may end up working well.

    5,000 Followers? Even if I assume that they are real you will not be able to earn a lot. I mean people will not be interested in buying from you since there are lots of accounts with a few hundred thousand followers who sell shoutouts for like $10.
