How To Make Money With Reddit

For those of you who are not familiar with Reddit, it is a website where you sign up for an account and submit links. These links can be to literally anything ( funny videos, pictures of cats, articles, etc.) Once a link is submitted, other Reddit users can click on the link and vote it up/down if they like or dislike what you have posted. The links submitted that get the most likes get put on the front page of Reddit, which get an INSANE amount of traffic! Getting your link to the front page of Reddit is not an easy task, however Reddit has what are called sub-reddits which are dedicated to one topic/niche. Getting your link to the top of a sub-reddit is much easier than getting to the front page of Reddit and all of the traffic that you receive from the sub-reddit dedicated to your niche will be highly targeted!

Step 1
Create a Reddit account. Go to reddit.com and click create an account. Once you set up an account comment on a few different posts and leave your account alone for a few days/weeks to age. You want to do this to make your account appear as if you are a normal Reddit user, and not as if the only reason you set up the account was to promote your site.

Step 2
Submit a new link. Once you have let your Reddit account age for a little while and commented on a few other submissions, you want to create a link back to your site. You want to link to a page on your site that has an eye-catching headline, is interesting and is something that people will want to share. When you submit a link to Reddit, people are only going to see your title so you want to make sure it catches the reader's attention and intrigues them to learn more. If your title is boring then nobody will click on it. A good way of getting people to click on your thread is by only telling half of the story in your title. That way the reader will have to click on your thread to find out the other half of the information.

Step 3
Leave the URL back to the page on your site and submit your thread to a sub-reddit that is closely related to your niche. When picking a sub-reddit you want to choose one that is popular but not too competitive. If the sub-reddit is too competitive then it will be difficult to get your thread to the top. When you search for a sub-reddit there will be a number next to each sub-reddit as to how popular that sub-reddit is. If it has a few hundred to a few thousand, then it is a good sub-reddit to go for. If it has tens to hundreds of thousands, then it is too competitive.

A tip to keep your Reddit account looking legitimate is you don't want to post a bunch of threads in a row linking to your site. Reddit will notice and possibly ban your account. You want to also submit threads to other sites as well, so you look like a regular Reddit user who just stumbled across your site.

Reddit is an awesome way to drive TONS of targeted traffic to your site! If people like the content that you are sharing, people will often share your link on various other social media sites, forums and bookmarking sites which is also good for SEO.
