Any good tips on how to get FB page-likes at a low cost?

I'm trying to revive two FB pages of mine (travel niche) that have been quite inactive for a while...

I would also like to do a page-like campaign and get more fans for these pages, but I'm not sure what's going on nowadays... Last time I did such a campaign was more than two years ago and so many things have changed since then... (I managed to get fans for US$ 0.01 - 0.02 at that time)...

Are there any good tips on how to design an FB page-like ad that will suit both desktop and smartphone ?

Any good tip will be highly appreciated

Thanks, Roni

Optimize ad ONLY to get likes ... for example, "Click Like if you think this dog is cute!" and have an ad showing a cute dog. Target cheaper traffic countries like China, India, Uganda, etc.

Of course, ideally, you'll want the ad to fit your target market ... so, a cute puppy may not be the "ideal" choice ... but, I'm sure you can think of something.

I'm thinking of recommending this to our beginners (I'm coaching a group of people who are just getting started in Facebook marketing).

Any advice or caution with this? The goal is to just jumpstart the "likes generation". You know that thing, more likes attract more likes.

      What do you think, guys?

BIG BIG fan of this strategy. I will straight up admit with not a single regret in it.. I specifically run ads that target Uganda, Central America, Far East ( think countries with high American / European influence ) to develop a base of likes.

Starting out and trying to get likes from scratch from a Tier one nation is just ridiculous. Starting out with over 100, and life becomes a ton easier.

    Buying fanpage likes still works?

No, buying likes does not work. Running facebook ads ("like campaigns"), however, does.

My advice is to hire someone who knows how to run the ads effectively. You can save a lot of money that way vs. trial and error.

Thanks, wolfmmiii. I never bought likes and have absolutely no intention to start now...

I always targeted real people who have real interest in what my FB pages are about and, as I already explained, my previous page like campaigns were quite successful, but they were more than 2 years ago, so I just wanted to refresh my memory and see what is the best way of doing it nowadays...

        Cheers, Roni

I'm doing that, winnermarketing, and I'm going to increase my posting rate to 3 - 4 posts a day, in order to improve engagement, but I'm not sure whether that will be enough to bring lots of new fans to my page...

I guess that a page like campaign is still something worth doing.

Is your fan page tied with a blog or just fan page only?

One way to get likes (for free) is by starting a blog related to your fan page. Then have a Facebook like plugin displayed on the side bar of your blog. If your readers like what you're posting, they may want to like your Facebook fan page as well.

  • You have to do more than post. Interaction is really important. Make an effort to respond to comments and thank people for shares. Encourage people to talk to one another and share ideas on your page.

By the way, if you were getting 1 cent and 2 cent likes, you probably should be the one giving us advice. If they were from tier 1 countries.

Very easy. Just post a link to a viral story you find on Buzzfeed or other viral site or a viral video and look for the responses. You can also choose the FB option to promote the post for $5.00 which will reach over 1200 persons.

When FB says xyz and 12 others like this post, click on the 12. A list of those who liked your post will appear. Click on invite next to each person who liked your post. There will be no invite link next to anyone who has already liked your page. Do this invite during a time during the day that the person is likely to be on Facebook for best results.

It seems like this feature of "invite people who liked this post" no longer exists...... (The title is still there but the buttons are gone)... You can invite these people to become your "friends" but not to like your FB page (unless I'm missing something big time)...

Run oCPM ads and have your ad objective geared towards getting likes, apart from that, split test 5-10 image variations with the same copy, you will find winners pretty fast that way!
