How to delete previous twitter accounts?

I have various twitter accounts associated with my name and I wanted to delete some. I logged in and deleted the account. It said it would be deleted in 30 days but they are still up and active as twitter accounts.

Any suggestions?

Sign in to twitter.Go to your account settings and click on deactivate my account at the bottom of the page. Read the account deactivation information. click deactivate account. Enter your password when prompted and verify that you want to deactivate your account which can take up to a week unless there is a separate arrangement between you and Twitter to extend your deactivation period. After deactivation, your account should be removed within a few minutes, however some content may be viewable on twitter.com for a few days.

Why did you create a lot of twitter accounts associated with your name by the way? What were you doing?

Go to the account settings and edit your profile.

Change the usernames along with other details which make the accounts appear associated to you. It's better than waiting for 30 days, I guess.
