Can I monetize YouTube videos (say gaming) with only captions, no voice?

I know that I cannot monetize videos that are just for example me playing a game, or a game trailer. I know that I CAN monetize them if I am speaking (or even showing my face) as well. But can I monetize them if I add captions instead of using my voice?

There are plenty of ways of monetizing without using your voice. But if you mean hosting adsense ads, then I'm not too sure.

  If you're just starting out, or are what most would consider small, I don't see other ways to monetize, but yea, I'm mostly talking about the icon on Youtube that says "monetize." So that'd be Adsense.
