Developing social media schedule with client?

Hey guys,
How would you go about developing a social media strategy and schedule for a client?

What questions would you ask the client to develop the target audience and marketing objectives?

How would you work to develop a publication schedule with the client? Specifically, how would you go about developing a timeline around the client providing you with updates, sales or other related announcements in order to develop a consistent workflow

I guess as an example, each month we collaborate on the bigger picture marketing initiatives and week by week (or day by day) we check in with developments that are more topical.

Social media calendar/schedule templates are great, but they don't really address the workflow between the client and the social media manager.

Thanks so much in advance!

First you need to find out what they are hoping to accomplish with their Facebook page. Are they hoping to establish their just get their name out there or are they trying to position themselves as an expert in their industry? If they are hoping to establish themselves as experts, have them write content that helps solve problems their customers face and to post it on their Facebook wall on a schedule you come up with. You can set up automation tools to post it for you after the content is created.

I would suggest you have the client send you at least 15-20 pieces of content that you can have automated to post either daily or every other day as you guys start up. That's how you should develop a consistent posting schedule.

If they want to spread their brand and increase sales you should create targeted Facebook Ads that will capture their audiences attention. So make sure you come up with headlines that instantly make the user want to click. Also make sure the picture you have for the ad is relevant and helps bring in people. Split test different ads as well to see what is and isn't working.

    Hope that helps!
