Does Twitter Allow Affiliate Links w/in tweets?

Thinking about using Amazon Affiliate links within tweets (I have around 40,000 followers of a political niche).

I checked with the FTC - and they said that using a disclosure like "#ad" within your tweet before the affiliate link is fine.

However, not sure Twitter allows affiliate links. I was looking at their TOS - couldn't really find it - so does anyone know if Twitter allows affiliate links?

The likelihood of making any significant money with that strategy is very low.

Your better option is to link to your blog, anyways.

People only buy when there's trust. Posting affiliate links on social networks is not lucrative.

    Building a following, is!

Content Boundaries and Use of Twitter
In order to provide the Twitter service and the ability to communicate and stay connected with others, there are some limitations on the type of content that can be published with Twitter. These limitations comply with legal requirements and make Twitter a better experience for all. We may need to change these rules from time to time and reserve the right to do so. Please check back here to see the latest.

Trademark: We reserve the right to reclaim usernames on behalf of businesses or individuals that hold legal claim or trademark on those usernames. Accounts using business names and/or logos to mislead others may be permanently suspended.
Private information: You may not publish or post other people's private and confidential information, such as credit card numbers, street address or Social Security/National Identity numbers, without their express authorization and permission. You may not post intimate photos or videos that were taken or distributed without the subject's consent.
Violence and Threats: You may not publish or post threats of violence against others or promote violence against others.
Copyright: We will respond to clear and complete notices of alleged copyright infringement. Our copyright procedures are set forth in the Terms of Service.
Unlawful Use: You may not use our service for any unlawful purposes or in furtherance of illegal activities. International users agree to comply with all local laws regarding online conduct and acceptable content.
Misuse of Twitter Badges: You may not use badges, such as but not limited to the Promoted or Verified Twitter badge, unless provided by Twitter. Accounts using these badges as part of profile photos, header photos, background images, or in a way that falsely implies affiliation with Twitter may be suspended.

Some work. Some don't. Twitter frowns upon them, but doesn't have any extreme filters in place like Pinterest does to block them entirely. As said above though, it's better to build your own website/blog around whatever it is you want to promote and share that instead. Believe me, I tried to promote many affiliate links like that back in the day A niche site to promote your affiliate offers will convert much better.

I second BranTheMan answer above. In saying that I do still promote some products/services and do make a few sales - mainly because I believe the quantity of active followers I have and targeted niche I have built over time (years). But yes, if you really want worthwhile returns then create great info via a blog. Direct them to your posts via Tweets and built trusting relationships and hot leads that way.

    All the very best,
