Engadgement and youtube ads

I just started a trueview ad campaign a few days ago for a music video and am not getting the engagement I would like in terms of video likes. I've had 15,000 views which is great but it's pointless having views unlesss I know that the viewers are engaged in some way. I dont just want views for the sake of views I want genuine fans of my music.

The subscriber engagement is good compared to the statistics on other youtube music videos at 1 in 1000 subscribing and the comment engagement is not too bad compared to others at 1 in 2000. However my like rate is only 1 in 1000, other videos seem to have a like rate of about 1 in 100.

I restricted how many mobile views I'm getting when I setup the campaign as I've heard that desk top views are better for engagement.

Any ideas?

Also I know the obvious response is that people dont click like because they dont like the video but my subscriber rate is equal to my like rate and I have a good subscriber rate which suggests that that isn't the problem.

I worked out what was happening here and thought I'd post in case anyone else has the same issue. Trueview In-Stream YouTube ads are really great for generating real views to your video. I've got thousands of inexpensive views but the one drawback is that when the viewer views instream videos there is no option to like the video while watching as it is embeded in the page of another video.

The result is that I'm getting plenty of engagement in terms of comments and subscribers to my channel but not many likes. I'm going to add some In-Display youtube ads too to see if this will help my low page like numbers.

Thanks for the info! I would also be interested in your budget to get those views

I started out spending 8p (UK) per view but got the price down quite quickly to 2p per view. I have 120,000 views so far. These are all UK views, I expect global views are much cheaper.
