Increasing Web Presence

Hi Warriors, I'm back again with a question (and also some ways of how I work).

I'm not yet ready to dive in to paid traffic (mainly as I'm not currently selling anything), but how do I increase my web presence? Here's what I've currently been doing;

I've been writing daily blog posts, and improved my Google rank from roughly page 5 up to 2 (currently back down to page 3 right now) for the word "Nidstang" [my company name].

After every blog post I add relevant tags in Wordpress. Then post to my social accounts similary to this:

- Post to company Facebook account (with a custom image, and various hashtags), then share to my personal profile.
- Twitter link to post (usually with a high quality image, or gif to increase interest).
- My personal Tumblr account (which has a similar theme to what I blog about) but I plan to have a company profile on Tumblr then post directly to there.
- My Google+ page, and then search for relevant communities to join and post a descriptive text, image then link to my post.

Once I've published the post I'll also post a link on the YouTube or Vimeo (wherever the original video I'm sharing is located) comments section, saying that I've made an article about their video then add a link to my post.

If possible I'll also include an @"person/brand name" on above social links, to let them know I'm sharing their content. Which I think makes Facebook make a post on their likers timeline saying "X brand is talking about Y person or brand. Not 100% if it works this way.

I've been doing this about just over a month, so I know if I keep it up I'll increase my ranking, visitors, likes etc. But apart from sharing on my social media accounts, and writing daily content, what else can I do to increase my web presence organically?

Try LinkedIn if you're in a legitimate business related niche. In my day job one of our main competitors tweets a lot (1000+ followers in a fairly boring niche) and they have a big thing going on at LinkedIn. Their Facebook site has flopped though - I think FB is poor for "boring" business niches.

I know some may disagree but Press Releases can add some benefit and some additonal exposure.

Just have to find the right ones

Well my "niche" is action sports and adventure news, so I think I'd fall under the Press Release category myself? When I start to build up a bigger following, I'll be competing against some pretty big names like Mpora, Thrasher Magazine and Transworld and also probably alongside Red Bull, ESPN, and Monster Energy, although I'm likely to be "sharing" their content too.

I'm looking and researching at similar methods to what they use, but without having some decent start-up capital for a huge lunge forward, its quite hard. But I suppose the start is always quite hard.

I'll hopefully be adding physical products in the near future which I can promote and sell, also then start to build up a "team" for my own video content. But until then are there any more ideas for getting my brand name out there?

You can also add blog commenting and guest posting on blogs related to your niche.

Out of her list I would go for these two to try out first. Both good sites with a huge audience, easy to maintain as well.

Continue blogging. You can contact other blog sites and ask to give you a feature.... This should give you some back links. Visit forums in your niche and post with link to your site if allowed....

In my opinion social media is a very effective way to increase the online presence of the business. The reason behind this is the increasing boom of social media sites. Now a days plenty of new companies and brand are using social media channels to promote their business online and they are getting new customer from it. Social media advertising is also much cheaper than Google and other advertising methods.

I've been on Reddit before but never really understood the hype so I don't use it, however if it'll help me boost my presence, then I don't see why I shouldn't create an account.

Stumbleupon I've never heard of, but will be sure to take a look!

Funnily enough for Pinterest, the theme I bought has a share to Pinterest button on each blog post I create so I should really utilize that...

@vandanamotvani: As above and I also haven't heard of Diggo, Delicious, and Storify. Do people still use Yahoo?

I'll definitely check out those. The forums idea I've heard multiple times but never seem to make time for it as I always thought it was better to focus on say Facebook and Twitter, I'll force myself to make some productive time for that from now on!

I'm hoping to get some stickers printed soon. I'm out and about rather often so I can give some out to people I meet, and stick some in various locations that seem fitting (in my case, skateparks are good places). Word of mouth has always been good to literally get people talking, which I'm certain down the line will lead them to visiting your site.

Getting backlinks going has been a huge way of getting presence out there. If you are already connected with (post on) several different communities online see if you can write guest blog spots for them, see what it takes to be a guess person on their podcast (usually have to be a consistent poster that provides great content over and over again), and continually just put yourself out there. Reddit is huge! Last month alone Reddit had almost 203 million unique visitors. Join in and find subreddits around the topic you are doing and just join the conversation where you can. If you have Youtube videos, and they are appropriate to the conversation, you can actually throw them into comments without getting voted down. It's really about providing massive value up front and showing that you're worth a damn
