What to shoot for with FB ads

Hello!

Were trying to increase our FB likes, were currently just over 8k likes and these have come organically over the last 5 or so years. Year to date we have only increased about 500 net gain. So whatever were doing is working, but very very slow.

Our competition in our nitch, ranges from the low end of about 5k, to the big brands 60k, and outliers in the 100k+ range.

I just started to run a FB ad to increase likes, I have a budget set of 20 per day, and I think I have a good demographic setup. According to FB its costing me about 47 cents per like. Does that seem "normal" or am I doing something wrong.

Thank you!

    Too expensive per like though.
It all depends on the campaign really

Best strategy is to post any image that will go viral including landscapes, funny quotes, etc. (DOES NOT have to be about your FP)
    • In the description put "TAG, SHARE and LIKE".
    • Boost the post for 1$ to you target audience so only they see it.
    • Your target audience will like the image .
    • then you as admin can invite the people who like the image to your fan page by clicking on their name when liked.
Cool strategy and a lot cheaper than paying for page likes as you are encouraging engagement which will give you lots of organic like as well.

Anyway you can sharpen your demographic a bit more?

Consider not targeting so many keywords.

I don't believe the 0.47 is normal, and at your
budget you should be able to get enormous
    amounts of likes.

It depends. There are niches I would spend $5 per like all day long and some that I wouldn't waste a penny. I like PCActive's tip. At first I was thinking it was too broad, but I would at least test it out.

I will try to tighten it down, I went very broad. And went with a lot of keywords (we manufacture stand up paddle boards) so I went with paddleboards, surf related keywords, and water sports keywords.

I am going to narrow it down a bit and see if we can get that down and a ton of likes.

      Thank you.
