New App that Can BLOCK Your Facebook Ads?? (& others too)

Hey Warriors,

I just came across this article on Business Insider. It goes into some detail about a new app (new to me at least) that has the ability to block ads while a user is on the Mobile version of Facebook. What does this mean for marketers who promote via Facebook ads?

Even though this is specifically targeted towards mobile users, can it still do significant damage to conversions for those who use FB ads? I only ask this because as far as i know, mobile FB ads aren't as popular as their desktop counterparts. Also, perhaps one day an extension/add-on/plug-in will come out that block ads on the desktop version too.

So, will this new app kill conversions?

    Actually, this is the best way to go.

    You are pushed to produce solid content that gets liked a lot.

    Also, you get many bites at the apple in terms of getting your page visitors to sign up to your list.

      I didn't really think of it that way, but suppose you're right. This will definitely get more people to put better content out there and focus on actually building a fan base.
