There is no best niche for Americans - Americans are interested in anything and everything because we are multi-national. We come from every culture on the planet. A successful first niche starts with what interests YOU most, finding others who like the same thing (a piece of cake on fb), and providing them with what they are looking for. Targeted audience, targeted ads. You don't need to place your ads directly on your fan page to start. You can write short articles of interest in a blog and post your ads there for free. Mention your article of the day in your What's on Your Mind post (there's a method for referring to your blog without posting links that Facebook will frown on), but don't over-do it.

You do not need to have any particular number of fans to begin selling, A hundred will do if they trust you implicitly. It's the trust that counts, so invest in putting together posts that show an interest, a deep interest, in your fans' opinions, write well-considered replies that are not cookie cutter replies, recognize each poster by name, and there's more. You can study the how-to's by searching the forum.

Next, you are asking questions that are readily answered at Facebook, AdSense, Commission Junction (and other affiliate networks), and here in the forum. Use the forum search tool and your question(s) worded in different ways to obtain a wealth of information from the gazillion posts right here.

My suggestion is to abandon this thread, go see what has already been posted using the search tool, then come back with a more specific question.
