Help! Crash and burn attempts on Teespring Campaign using FB CPC ads!

I created a few campaings that all turned out to not sell one shirt. I've been studying for weeks, following many people's advice and stumbled across the Warrior Forum that I have seen for quite some time. I was currently trying to sell the current design using TeeSprings own designer tool, but targeting 2 age groups of people in 2 different cities. Married Women Ages 45-50 and Married Women from 51-55. I did these two groups in 2 different cities so therre were 4 adverts going out. Budget started at $5 but increased to $10 as I saw a lot of likes and shares beginning to happen.I am also using a CPC type ad,

https://teespring.com/mygreatestcallmegrandma

Again, I've gotten a whole lot of likes and shares, but no buyers. I see the comments and shares, but don't know what I'm doing wrong. In other ads, I had the same result. Likes, comments and shares, but no buyers. I know I'm a newbie to this and will need to learn a lot over the long haul, but I need you expert advice on the designs and most importantly, the targeting and FB ad. Thank you everyone in advance!

  • Since you only targeted 2 cities your audience might not have been big enough. And I personally wouldn't target only married women. I would also target single women.

Also, I would target all women in those age groups who are mothers because it's likely that a lot of them are grandmothers, as well, but if they don't have kids at all, then they won't buy this shirt.

    Good luck.

    • Thank you Denise! I'll try a few more cities and age groups
  • I suggest not targeting any specific cities. As far as the age groups, I'd suggest going up to age 65, but don't go younger than 45 because most women under 45 aren't grandmothers. Definitely include single women, though, because not all grandmas are married.

    • You are in a super saturated and competitive niche with a not so great design.
Have you looked at the "Grandparent" designs to see what has been selling?

Your first mistake is picking that niche. Don't choose a niche because you saw a shirt or two do really well and you think it's going to be quick money for you too.
You are just starting out and just learning everything, so it doesn't make sense for you to try and beat competition when you don't have all your ducks in a row yet.

Your targeting makes no sense: Age should be 45-65, The location should not be limited to cities! The married thing makes no sense it's 2015 not 1920.

You would target interests particularly magazines and products.
Grandparents buy and shop for their grandchildren.
What do they buy? Baby food, diapers, toys, educational products, ect
That's still too broad though. So you would then google top baby food brands and keep going. What stores do they shop in? BabiesRus, ect ect....

Do you see how deep you need to get? Spend A LOT of time researching
Then use Audience Insights to research more.

Get out of competitive niches and figure out what your interests are and find a long term niche you plan to grow.

Try to get into some Teespring support groups; just type "Teespring" into the search on facebook and click on groups.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Heck yeah, QTeeKitty got that shizz right on the nose.

If I was you even, I'd reverse your method because it seems like you're picking a product then trying to tailor the advertising to what you think the audience would like... all I got to say is "naw man" that won't work too well most the time.

Check this stuff out bruh... I'm about to blow your frikken mind

click this link first, it's going to take you to a FB search for "interests" then click on the "show more" bar below the short list after it populates.

    https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=interests

    Now... LOOK AT IT!!!

look how many different interests there are.
look at the amount of people in these interests.

getting any ideas yet? I hope so.

Pick an interest, out of this list or search for another one if you want to. Go nuts!

    NOW!

    click on THIS link...
    https://facebook.com/ads/audience_insights

then click on "everyone on facebook" when it pops up.

Input the interest you've selected into the 'interest' field on the left side of the webpage... you'll see more interest pop up, choose the right one.

now look at all the magnificent info you get!!!

Now... I won't go into anymore details here, there is just too much and i could go on and on and on forever about this stuff BUT...

    you get the idea.

Pick a niche first, look at it and think with your smart brain, think about what sort of designs might sell in that niche, go google it and see if you get ideas, check out that t-spring group idea mentioned above... take this new info and run with it. Youtube is your friend too. You can learn a lot by searching for stuff there
