when you close your twitter account can you open it up again using the same username?

I opened up a twitter account for my blog but i signed up under my real name and then i chose my blogs name for the twitter username.

so now it looks like this:

Blog name
My Name

I didn't want my name on the blog i just thought they were asking for my name for account purposes. Didn't know it would show up on the twitter profile.

So i closed the account and they said it takes 30 days to fully close. I was wondering if once the 30 days are up can i choose that same username the next time i register for an account? Or will the name still be taken/locked?

Also is there a way to skip all this and just have it changed completely? I tried looking around but couldn't find it I was only able to find the option to change the username.

Appreciate any help on this matter. thanks.

    You never needed to close the account but opening a new one with the same username should totally be possible. When you are on your profile all you have to do is his edit profile on the right, directly above the "who to follow" widget and you'll be able to change your name...

    I agree, you didnt need to close your account. You could have just edited your profile and changed "YOUR name" into the blog name or whatever you like.
    Since you have closed your account, I would think that you would be able to use the name again. I am not fully sure on that though. I have never done oe experienced this. I just edited things until they were exactly how I wanted them.

    EDIT: NVM figured it out.

    You guys do know you can reactivate an account right?

    Just did it now and was able to change the name. I dont use twitter at all and just now started so i can get some social media signals to my site. Not too use to the interface yet. I was looking around all over the place to change my name and could never figure it out. Didn't think the name it self was the place to change it. That's why I asked here.
