Traffic from Huge Facebook Groups

Hello Warriors,

Thx for having me here! I'd like to ask from your experience if its worth to find a huge facebook group when driving organics traffic to a blog/product/video. I notice tons of marketers posting every few minutes in some of this 100k + groups but it seems that there are no results or likes to even show any attention to these posts.

Is it better to focus on smaller groups with an active audience in that sense?

You don't know that, since you don't track the click he get from his post. If a post does not get visible attention doesn't mean that its not getting any.

On the side note, yes I would focus to keep expanding the group and then filter the members to different marketing channels. For example, to buyer's list, to freebie email list etc.

    Just my 2 cents

Just a little trick here (in case you don't know it yet):
Many people use bit.ly links for their postings and if you just copy the link into a new browser tab and add a "+" at the end you can see how many people clicked the link.

I just created an example for you:
This is a potential Link: http://bit.ly/1YZMmOg
Add a "+" to see the stats: http://bit.ly/1YZMmOg+

  • You should post regularly to groups and do not post same thing in groups again and again. May be you can post about promotion 2 times a day. Rest ask questions and local things available in market

There is a difference between posting when you post something meaningful and helpful in a group and then chances are higher that you get attention .

Then there is a spamming where people post their URLs all over FB groups without thinking about it , they just post in big groups and then their domain get blacklisted.

It does bring some quality traffic if you post to groups that your product or website or info is relevant however You can't over do it couse you get blocked from joining groups and posting in them. But if you do it smart it does help to make sales or get new visitors to your site.

If you are talking about posting to a group set up just for people to post ads, often most people who visit those groups only visit to post their ads, NOT to read others ads.

Many people also join many of those groups, and then post remotely, using software, and rarely visit the groups. So, just because a group has a lot of members doesn't necessarily mean that they get a lot of physical visitors.

I've found it most productive to start my own groups, and then engage group members in meaningful conversation, on a very specific topic. There the group members get to know, like and trust each other... making them more likely to buy from you or other group members.

My groups aren't for promoting marketing stuff by rather to either teach a topic, or to help affiliates find products to promote.

"Big Ticket Affiliate Marketers" is for people who are launching big ticket products to list their launches, and for affiliates to find those products:

        https://www.facebook.com/groups/17066638119/

"Affiliate Products Proven To Sell" is for product owners and other affiliates to tell about affiliate product with a proven track record (conversion rates):

        https://www.facebook.com/groups/48539366633/

"2000 New Subscribers In 30 Days" is designed to teach marketers to build a list really fast:

        https://www.facebook.com/groups/QuickListOf2000/

All three of the above groups are Private and moderated, but free to join. You have to request membership and an admin has to approve your joining. The admins are VERY quick to delete anyone who just posts blatant ads, which is what keeps the groups very useful.

I have other groups which also teach very specific topics, but those groups require purchasing other products in order to gain membership.

All of my groups are usually fairly active with some members visiting practically every day, much as people do here on the forum.

I do something similar with groups on LinkedIn... keeping them moderated and very on topic.

Members who do share resources in any of my groups DO get traffic because the members get to know and trust each other.

I do highly recommend that fellow Warriors consider starting your own group(s).

that is a good question, i used some software to join all the groups to the keyword you choose and some had tons of members, and i also noticed when i was logged in on my phone my phone would beep every min. I would think smaller groups are better because if the member is logged in on his phone he will get a notice when you post on it. and the groups are probley more active than some of these huge groups that just like to spam

Targeting huge Facebook groups to drive organic trffic is a great idea and extremely useful if done well. You need to be very active on the group, post good information and promote your stuffs in creative way that look more informative and can engage your audience.

  • Facebook is best source to drive paid and free traffic. Join huge active users groups to bring good number of visitors but you need to work properly like share valuable information, leave comment on other shared posts, make good conversions. That's the way to get traffic and increase the visibility of business.

Go for huge Facebook groups, there is no results because they are doing something WRONG. I drove more than 40k+ traffic to my website daily.

Moreover, don't forget to create your own group too. This works even better rather than posting spammy comments/links on other group wall

I have a FB Fan Page with almost 30,000 followers and there has been a person on that page that promotes memory cards who regularly likes and comments favorably on my posts. I don't think he would be wasting his time doing this if it was not profitable.

I have a few groups 26,000 being one of the biggest. The trouble is not all of those people are interested in the same thing. I would run a pol and try and establish what peoples main interest within the group and then filter them out to another group or page and get to work on providing them with the content they have asked for.

Lol , lots of them are using bot or software to auto post their websites , it keep posting again and again to maintain their posts at the top!

It's depend on the group itself to make it works , if the group members are the customers from product that invited them to join the Private facebook group, it will deliver better results if you post on it!

    Good Luck!
