It really depends on how you put the problem.
If you think that time = money, then the concept of "free traffic source" doesn`t exist.
If you don`t put a value on the time you waste on promoting your website, then the best free traffic sources are:

- SEO (this method can be really time consuming, especially for a beginner, because you have to learn all the basic stuff)
- Social Media (this method involves less time, but it is still a lot of time if you have multiple accounts on all the platforms and you want to post daily on each one of them)

Hey

The one I use the most in Instagram. It's definitely a really efficient way to get targeted traffic. Also it can be automated to some extent which makes it really lucrative to people who care about their time.

It all depends on your business. Different social platforms are popular in different industries. You can always educate yourself when it comes to SEO so that your blog can make more of an impact (thus traffic). Forums posts and blog comments made within your industry can also give you some additional exposure as well.

One of my favorites has to be youtube for free traffic that is (or can be) targeted too! Also, I haven't tried it myself, but I hear a lot of chatter about free Solo Adds, and they might be worth looking into.

I would say; Facebook Marketing, SEO, Blogging, Content Marketing and Youtube - are among the best traffic generation methods to use today.

I get good traffic from my Facebook account - for free. I learned how to build up my following and network, and now I can get clicks on a website when I post it on my timeline.

I love the combination of Blogging + SEO. I have been ranking some of my blog posts for long-tail keywords, and that is building up steadily.

I also love Content Marketing. And this includes every type of content online (articles, videos, audio, pdf files, etc).

One great strategy that really pays off is Guest Blogging. There are thousands of blogs with a good traffic flow, that allow you to publish a guest post.

Ranking Youtube Videos within Youtube and on Google, for long-tail keywords, is also a very effective internet marketing strategy

When it comes to driving traffic, you have a long Menu to choose from here! hehe

No doubt these social networks are great, but we have to optimize these social pages too. We should use SMO, It is the use of a number of social media outlets and communities to generate publicity to increase the awareness of a product, brand or event.

For good traffic the very first thing you need is good content. First offThis will help you get good Seo ranking in Google.

You can then share this content in groups in your niche and this will then help you get alot of shares likes and comments in each of these groups.

I would then share this content in other social media platforms like Twitter and LinkedIn.

Important things is to make sure your headline is good because this what is going to increase your click through rates.

i think there are no concept about best free traffic source because it is up to you in your own business.
However, some traditional sources as FB, twitter, instagram, G+, etc sitll are valuable

I mostly use Tumblr and Twitter, but its all about what you are selling and number of followers you can get. I use bots for those tasks since its time consuming and very boring to do. Reddit can be a great source if you know how to get the most of it.

Pinterest is also a great source of traffic even though most people neglected it. The reason behind the negligence is not people don't know to create images to market their products or blogs. Therefore you can have a great traffic if you can come up with images rather than text to describe your products.
