How Effective Is Commenting?

I've tried some targeted commenting on relevant posts and comments here and there over the years, but I still don't know if it's effective.

I'd like to believe that at least replying to someone else's comment on a relevant post/tweet/etc could be useful for getting people to at least check out my profile and maybe follow my account.

Have any of you done that enough to know if it's worth doing to bring in new subscribers?

I use it all the time. Internet is all about sharing your knowledge and experience. In that regard, if you are an expert in your field, people will be glad that you payed attention to their needs. Due to this fact, they will link to you, they will share your content and your reputation will increase.

Commenting is more effective here on the WF if you have a signature file with a link to your home page, landing page, blog, or something you are promoting. No affiliate links allowed. I know some people will go to your profile page. WF says mine has been viewed 16,968 times, but I think it is still worth having a simple sig file.

For years I kept busy on writing orders from the WF and a couple of other forums I was active in. That doesn't work as well anymore. I personally would rather outsource blog commenting because of the time it takes.

I am on a mailing list for Drip Feed Links, but have not tried it yet. It looks interesting. They say they have never had a site sand boxed by Google yet.

It depends on the social network. On Facebook comments are really powerful, they do get you noticed. It's a good way to get Facebook to prioritize your future posts. Basically, the more you interact with others, the more Facebook is likely to show them your posts in the future.

Yea. blog commenting is really effective. However, you will also need to comment on your niche blogs. Don't go for random comments because they won't work.

Secondly, this is important to communicate with the authority sites to comment and get links. This enhances your website quality and value!

I find forum and blog commenting more effective than fb commenting but people in beauty/fashion business could get more patronage through fb commenting.

Yes commenting and getting comments in return on blogs through for instance blog syncronizing groups on facebooka and other places is very valuable. This to help your blog posts seo ranking but also for the possibility for others to check out your blog when they see your comment on other peoples blogs.

    Hey Nathan,

I have a lot of experience on social media. One thing I can tell you is that no one method will be the end all fix all... Marketing and effectively marketing and networking takes a diverse set of skills. So I believe that commenting can be an effective addition to a bigger overall marketing strategy. I really enjoy commenting on people's posts that they do because it allows me to connect with them find out exactly what their needs are and then determine what I could do to serve them better and help meet those needs.

However I also would like to point out that commenting on someone's post and appearing to not have a clue as to what you are talking about, or if you appear to be spamming will result in a negative reaction. So always be relevant, and aim to help and serve your fellow man. That is the true aim of the game.

    To our success,
