Help! 1450 Facebooks fans but NO sales

Hi,

I have slowly built a fan base of around 1400 and I am getting engagement such as likes, shares, comments but no sales of my product. I'm selling a beauty product that targets women and the price is competitive but still allows me to make a profit.

If someone could give me some advise I would really appreciate it

    Hi Jumi,

You post did not give us much to go on.

For example, what is the source of your fan base? Are they fans of your products? Did they become fans after making a purchase? Did they find your Facebook page by following a link from your website? Or, was there some sort of promotion you did to get that fan base?

The source of your fan base makes a huge difference in whether you fan base will have any commercial value, or not.

What sort of offer do you have on your Facebook page? Is it clear? That might seem like a silly question to ask, but lack of clarity seems to be one of the more common issues I see with people trying to learn how to market online.

Find 3 people, that have know idea what you are selling, to look at you page for exactly 10 seconds, then look away, then ask if they can tell you what your page is about, just from that 10 second look. If no one describes what you are selling as the primary objective of the page then you probably have a clarity problem.

Sorry for the lack of info....

So the fans came from a fb page like campaign. The facebook page clearly shows what I am selling.

I was thinking maybe I am not targeting the right audience but at the same time I'm getting page likes.

People who like your Facebook fan page should be target oriented. First your like should be from a specific area, then you should target the age, then target their interest to be more successful.

For product selling first you should search product user related people. So fan page not enough. If you want your product sell then you need so much marketing your product.

I am little suspicious about your fan page. All of the fans are real?

Yes they are real fans, they are real people. I am not into the route of getting fake fans. These fans were accumulated for a period of time.

You are suspicious and I am confused. That is why I'm seeking help. I have recently introduced free shipping worldwide and started targeting the same group outside Australia and change the age to from 25 instead of 18.

      Any advice would be appreciated.

Okay, I do not understand any but one of the replies to this post. They do not appear to be based on anything other than speculation and the thoughts are incomplete. Not helpful.

Jumi, 1400 is not a large fan base unless your audience is highly targeted. Then it should be a winner, depending on the popularity of the product itself.

Are you providing helpful tips about using it?
Have you researched any comparison studies?
What sort of post value are you giving your audience?
Why should they buy your product? What makes it special?

Sometimes likes are merely knee-jerk social reactions, like saying thank you. In order to sell a product that does not have a high demand and yet is pricey, you must engage your audience and preferably have a blog to go with your fan page.

By doing that, you can post your highly informative and helpful short blogs with ads for beauty accessories, for instance, and you can showcase products other than what you are primarily selling. On your Fan Page - post an abbreviated version with a lead back to the post on your blog.

Example: You are selling ABC Facial Cleanser. That is an opportunity to sell facial creams, facial brushes, body lotions, the list is endless. You can write about how much better the other products may work after using your recommended Facial Cleanser. Tell us about the company that created the cleanser, or if it is a private individual, what's the person's background story? Human interest stories are very compelling.

Respond to the comments on your blog, respond to the comments on your Facebook, and Facebook will reward you with a tally of how many visit your blog and are following both. Talk about targeting your audience!

You will find the how-to for free on the 'net, here in the forum, and at Facebook who wants their advertisers to make lots and lots of money. There's a guide for advertisers at fb.

There are so many ways to go about generating more sales through facebook. Most of which takes time or more money through facebook ads. Out of your 1,450 page likes only about 5%-7% see your posts on average now. Organic reach is way down now because facebook is a "pay to play platform."

I suggest you try some different ways to capture email addresses from your facebook fans. Once you have that you can implement some email marketing and more reach. Run contests or simply ask people to sign up for your newsletter.

Another way to generate some sales would be to do a facebook only promotion. Only fans of your page get the discount for a period of time.
