Tagging other pages in my post could harm my reach on Facebook?

I have a cosplay fanpage so I have to tag other pages always due to giving credit for cosplayers, photographers. While I read such things like "tagging other pages could improve your reach because that way facebook can show it to people who are interested in that topic" my reach is utter garbage and I believe those people don't know what they are talking. Does this only happen if you are a small page and will change if I get a couple of hundreds or even million+ likes?

Thanks!

  • I understand your frustration. Facebook has throttled organic reach as a way of "encouraging" people to purchase ads and promote posts. Tagging can affect reach but not as much or as fast as most of us would like. And being a small page also puts you at a disadvantage.

My advice is don't depend so much on tagging for your reach. Make sure your content is engaging and don't forget to put in a great CTA.

I never had very much success with tagging other people/pages. I think it kinda spam other people. And some of them won't even approve my post to appear on their timeline. So I guess it might just be time consuming. I think purchasing ads from Facebook is still the sure fire way to get optimum results!

Tagging is not much important in Facebook ads.Important thing is just to be focus on your content and share with friends in your Facebook profile. With tag, people only get notification about your post.

The pictures are engaging, since I only post top quality cosplays. Best or nothing. Might sound dumb but may I ask what is CTA? Searched for it but got "Calf-Thigh-Ass" so I guess it's not that.

The case is that I have to tag other pages in my posts and not the fact that I really want to tag for bigger reach or anything. It's just a polite thing to do when you post someone's work. Giving credit. Inevitable, that's why I was curious if it could harm my reach.

    CTA is Call to action
You have a button on your Facebook page which allows you to use - send a message / send an email etc
