Create some pages related to what you sell or promote, you enter your youtube video link, it is one of the easiest and effective ways.

People usually give vague answers on this but here is what you do.

1. Make videos based on things people are interested in. What do I mean? Go to Facebook, Google +, Reddit and use the Google keyword planner to see what people are actually into. Then, when you make your video, you can post it in those groups and communities as long as it's relevant and helpful. The keyword planner will help you rank better if you use the info from it for your titles, descriptions and tags.

2. SEO. Make sure you're using titles and tags that people actually look for. Don't assume people are searching for things you might think of, research and make sure. Use the keyword planner and YouTube auto complete for this.

3. IF you have a social media following of any kind, of course share it with them. If you don't have a following then you should start building one now by creating accounts on the major social media outlets and posting content relevant to your niche. (this won't help you now but is an investment into your future video postings)

4. Reddit, probably should have been mentioned in number one. Find relevant subreddits that would find your video helpful and post there.

The common theme you've probably noticed is being helpful. If you're contributing to the community you won't be looked at as a spammer as long as you post in moderation. If you're not contributing you'll be considered a spammer (because that's what you'll be) and most likely be banned from the particular sub reddits if not the whole site.

5. Buy traffic. If you're building a channel you can buy ads on YouTube, Google, Facebook etc. to get eyes on your content. If you only have a few videos, wait until you have enough videos that people will want to subscribe to see more.

That's all off the top of my head but there are a lot of ways you can get eyes on your videos. It's time consuming but it's a process just like building anything else.

Also you can upload the same video on your own website and other social media like twitter etc.

Please remember Youtube has NO CLUE what your video is about it cannot watch it, if you are intent on ranking a Youtube video then have a bloody mile long description and appropriate tags to tell Youtube all about it (its not google the metrics are so different)

*secret (type in your keyword and see who is at the top, you might find by slipping their channel name into your tags for the video it actually gains a few spots as it then feeds into the suggested videos category more easily after the popular one)

Also a similar name to a popular video is not a bad idea just saying i.e.
