Article Marketer's Your Prayers are Finally Answered ... Starting April 12th.

As you know some of the top article publishers (i.e, Ezine Articles) tanked because of Google Algo changes. Result?

Many marketers have been lost in the desert so to speak. Where to go now? How or where to get articles ranked? So, Is article marketing dead? Etc.

So, starting on April 12 Facebook is rolling out Instant Articles to publishers —of any size, anywhere in the world. This could bring many new opportunities to article marketers that never existed before ... if you're prepared to take advantage of it.

It's aggressively being Beta tested now (encouraging), so this is the perfect time to start your researching, planning and strategizing to ...
  • See how it can fit in your marketing plan.
  • See how you can use it to your advantage to profit or get more exposure for you product or service.
or
  • Get new ideas of your own.
And more!

Here's the article that inspired the post,
But of course there's much more to research by doing a Google search.

As always I invite your comments, opinions or complaints (critics and 'hole punchers' welcome) concerning this new venture.

      Sounds good, Roy.

Just a more convenient and easier way to utilize WP with Facebook. I figured this would be coming around sooner or later. Makes sense

So...Facebook is not content with stealing video views from YouTube and video creators...now they're coming after every other form of content. Wonderful, just wonderful.

It's the text version of what they're already doing with videos. See here: 'How Facebook is stealing billions of views' YouTube video goes viral - Business Insider

Building an Instant Article does not automatically create a corresponding Facebook post. It is a separate tool meant to enhance your article once someone shares it on Facebook. It simply means that any time a reader on a mobile device is directed to the article’s URL on Facebook, the link will be displayed as an Instant Article.
Instead of directing the viewer to the publisher's content, they keep the viewer on Facebook, to view the content as an "instant article". This is content aggregation on steroids, and it's pretty odious.

I'd rather tell you an ugly truth than a pretty lie.

Holy crud, that video you linked on Business Insider is pretty disturbing.

I'll admit, I was feeling pretty excited about this "Instant Articles" but now I'm seeing where this could be very problematic.

Not to mention Facebook's lackadaisical way of dealing with reported stolen content.

      Regards,
      Daniel

Good on them. Google needs some competition. Have you heard of the Knowledge Graph? Google does the exact same thing, already.

Facebook's algorithms are based on user interactions -- the direction Google wish they used in the beginning.

If FB turns into a search engine, they would grab the market share that Bing couldn't do with antiquated tech -- and

Google wouldn't get away with building local lead generation into their algorithms, or doing away with more advertising space, and fewer organic results at the same time, or any of the other business models small guys use to make a living.

I'm personally all for a fresh new platform to exploit. Digging up the low allintitle keyword lists, now. ;D

This is the attitude that killed Usenet, Free-for-All pages, banner exchanges, article marketing via directories, and just about any other tactic used by the "little guys".

When this launches, I can't wait to see how long before the exploiters bury it in digital muck.

Call me a skeptic, but I'm not quite ready to sing praises for this new service until I see what it does for my blog.

Does it only show articles on your own FB page or can others put my articles on their blog?

Can you include links back to your blog? What about affiliate links or your own product offers?

What is it going to do to traffic coming to my blog? Will people still want to visit my blog given that they can now access it on FB?

These and other questions still remain in my mind.

This could be a good thing . . . or maybe not.

Personally, I think it's a little early to tell. That's why I'm not going to buy into the headline "Article Marketers Your Prayers are Finally Answered" just yet.

Just as with any other new service, let's see what happens after we've had a chance to test and track this new program.

Looks promising. Just like everything else, it will get bused to high heaven, thus eventually diminishing the quality / effectiveness.

Interesting questions, complaints and skeptical responses so far. On paper it sounds interesting. But of course the proof of the pudding is in the eating. We won't be able to see the answers to many of our questions until April 12.

But knowing about it now will put you way ahead of the curve, others and even your competition. You'll know whether it's worth your time or a waste of it sooner rather than later.

Now this is a much more reasonable, and reasoned, response than telling someone their prayers have been answered by something that won't even launch to the public for another month.

I'll be keeping an eye on it.
