How does Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter compare to FB ads?

I'm going to be running ads targeting women ages 20-50, pushing them to a buddy's gym.

I'm curious, though, what ya'lls experiences have been with other advertising platforms, such as Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter, as opposed to Facebook ads to a landing page.

Are they as effective? Any strategies I should be following that are different from FB ads?

Any "ultimate" resources you know of that I should check out before I dig in?

Are those platforms even worth the effort?

    When it comes to advertising facebook is the best platform.

    Pinterest is just booming and has only fewer number of users as compared to facebook.

    Instagram and twitter can also be an effective means of advertising since people nowadays are starting to be hooked with instagram. And you can post simultaneously through twitter.

    Do you have any experiences with the conversion rates on the various platforms?

    FB has been performing good for him, but he's (and I've) never experienced the other platforms.

    I'm assuming (I know, right?) that if FB converts, the other platforms should, as well.

    I've been wrong before, though.
