Is there any URL shortener you can use on Instagram that won't gat your account banned?

  • Hi,

I tried bit.ly before but I noticed that Instagram recently disallowed me from using any bit.ly links, not sure why.

You could try other popular shorteners such as tinyurl.com or Google's URL shortener at goo.gl, I've seen quite a number of accounts with large followers having such shorteners.

But need to be aware that Instagram might discover these & other URL shorteners in time to come & ban them eventually. So the safest way might still be to set up a separate, new URL link from your own website or blog (i.e. www.mysite.com/newlink).
  • Like John said, the safest way is to use your own website with a redirect plugin like PrettyLink.

Not sure what Instagram has against URL shorteners.
  • try bit.ly and then after getting the link make space between . and ly and ask ur followers to delete space if this doesnt work then put all new links in bio instagram doesnt care or look for the bio ! good luck hope i helped
  • Instragram doesn't allow shorteners? That's nuts!
  • Maybe you can just use the original link of your site and not have it via a url shortener? Did you try putting up the shortened link in your bio?
