Posting images from my site on Instagram

How can I post images from my desktop computer onto Instagram?

And is there any way to post images from my wordpress site on to Instagram.

    I don't think you upload images from your desktop to instagram. You should have a smartphone or tab to do it.

      You need an app installed on your desktop, and even then the ones that are available are limited in what they can do (ie; upload only/no editing, viewing only, etc.).

      Do what I do, if it's a photo on my desktop I email or text it to myself then edit and upload from mobile. If the photo is on your WP site just access it from your mobile browser.

      If you have no mobile devices then you'll have to try the app route.

    As far as I know, viewing is only allowed on desktop but you can edit and upload pics from tab and phone.

    As motorkitty mentioned you can access your site through your smartphone browser and save the image and then just upload it from within your Instagram app. Also there is another alternative to do it from your desktop and that is to use Bluestacks which works on PC's.

    You have 3 choices basically to post links. The first is to put the link to the current Instagram post in your Instagrams bio where you can have just one active link. The problem is you would have to delete older post links to put the new one in so if people see a post listed in any of your pics there can be only an active link to one article, basically the current one.

    The second choice is to use a very short domain with subfolder with PHP redirect to the current article such as - sendmeto.com/article1 ( just an example I don't own that domain and didn't even check to see if it it available). This link you would post in your caption below your picture or video won't be clickable so to get people to go to it it has to be very short and sweet and easy to remember because you can't copy and paste it either. With this second method you can post all the articles or blog posts urls you want.

    The 3rd option is to have a link in your Instagram accounts bio, which will be clickable, so you can have that link lead to a single page that lists all of your blog posts, with an active links to each post or article, that you post on your Instagram account.

      Thanks.. I can open my site's aricle through smartphone, but don't know how to save image of the article on my smartphone. I have an i-phone 5S

        You should be able to tap and hold your finger on the image until a menu pops up with the option to "Save Image". You'll then be able to access it in your camera roll under your Photos app.

        I just noticed you said "save image of the article". Are you wanting to take a screen shot of the article? In that case press the on/off button and Home button simultaneously and that will produce a screenshot that will also be saved in your camera roll.

    I have saved my one of my site's article image on my smart phone and then posted it on instgram. Have added a caption ( a text para of about 160 characters). Now I want to add hash tags. Can I add hash tags now within the caption-para? If, yes - please let me know how to do it? Pleae give an example...

    1. Take a screenshot of the image you want to post.

    2. Install Gramblr on your desktop to upload the image to your Instagram account.

    That's the easiest solution I can think of. It's not instant but it works.

    You have to have an instagram app installed on your smartphone. You can only use your desktop to view photos from it but not for uploading.

    There is a product called Instamate available at instamate.com that will allow you upload photos from your computer to instagram. I have it and it works well for me, but other users have had some complaints about various features not working 100%, such as its scheduled posting feature which I don't use.

    There's no way you can post on instagram through desktop. You have to have an instagram app on your smartphone. Desktop is for viewing only.

      You can use Bluestacks to post images to your Instagram account from your PC. Bluestacks is basically an android emulator and you can download and install the Instagram app through Bluestacks and use it on your PC. I have started a bunch of Instagram account from my PC and uploaded hundreds of images using bluestacks. I mostly do it from my iPhone lately but Bluestacks is an option for posting to Instagram from a PC( don't think there is a Mac version).

    Easiest way:

    1. Upload your pic on your Dropbox account on your PC

    2. Access your Dropbox account from your mobile

    3. Eventually edit your pic on your phone

    4. Export the image to Instagram

    5. Done


    It's fast and easy!

    You can access your site using your mobile phone, but also there are a few programs on the internet that you can download and use to upload pictures directly from your computer.I managed to find a few, but i haven't use any of them so you will need to download them and try them for yourself. Some of the programs are: Gramblr, InstaPic (this is a program that can be run on a windows 8 or higher but gives you an instagram like experience so you can create an account, upload pictures, crop your pictures, apply some filter etc). Also, you can try using an Android emulators. It is a sotware, that lets you run Android apps on your desktop computer. First you have to install the android emulator on your computer and then you run an app on it. One of the most popular emulators is bluestacks.
