What is the theme of your blog? It's kind of hard if you are in IM because the people over there seem to hate anyone who sells anything but on the other hand you can try out some weird stuff and they seem to like it. Share some animated .gifs that lead to your site, they seem to work good on Tumblr.

Try to post quality content and attractive picture. Increase your activity on Tumblr. Like and comments others post. Remember when you will create your account or tumblr blog create it with same name about your niche.
