Is it lucrative following random people on twitter (target demographic audience) ?

I target with my marketing a certain country's audience. It is worth it to follow random people from this country so that they follow me back in return , and thus increase my twitter followers with a matter of clicks ? Or this would decrease my organic reach because of the probability of uninterested audience ?

Twitter is actually good for business because you can promote your product/services to millions of potential customers. But in your situation, be careful of who to follow. It's okay to follow people who you think are interested/can relate to what you've got to offer. I do not advice you to just follow "random" people. Like what you have said, it would probably decrease your organic reach. God bless!
