Want genuine Instagram followers? Here's how

You’ve taken the plunge and added your business to Instagram, and on the first posts, you create you get hundreds of annoying ‘Buy Followers’ comments and likes. While this might be tempting in the short term to give your business a bit of a boost; DON’T DO IT! It’ll make you look second rate, to be honest, and it won’t do a thing for your genuine engagement. Social media and online marketing are fast moving to a place where organic and authenticity are key. So if you can create genuine followers in these early stages, you’ll be on the front foot for the future.

Like and Comment: Instagram is probably one of the better forums to be confident that the account owners are reading everything. It’s much easier to keep track of at-a-glance than Facebook and LinkedIn etc. So make sure you comment on pics that are worthy of it and relevant to you. The more people see your name pop up, the more they’re likely to follow you too.

Be consistent: People follow you because they like something you’ve already done. Continue with this theme, whether it’s a filter, photo app or content type (i.e., motivational quotes/self-help tips/inside business info, etc.), those people will continue liking you, and you’ll consistently show up in their newsfeeds encouraging others to see what all the fuss is about.

Re-post: Use the Repost app to re-post people’s quality content. Making friends on social media isn’t dissimilar to making friends in real life, so if you notice someone’s doing a good job with something, let the rest of the world know too. This will boost their ego and encourage them to shout-out to you when you deserve it too!

Don’t steal content: Sharing is good, copying is not! If you see something you like, then re-gram it giving full credit to the photo owner. Ripping off someone else’s content and claiming it as your own isn’t cool and highly frowned upon in the Instagram world, trust us, people will find out, and they’ll tell the whole world about it too!!

Use relevant #’s: If you’re in the hairdressing industry, # the names of specific cuts and styles or the name of relevant hairdressers and salons, followers of whom are likely to appreciate your content too. Making your hashtags too general will create dead-end interest from people who have no need to be on your page and is overall considered a waste of time. Hashtagging #goodjob #greatday or #highfive is nowhere near as effective as #layeredbob #cutcolouranddye and #insertsalonnamehere. The trick here is that you’re looking for quality views, likes and shares, not quantity!

Follow people: It sounds obvious, but it’s often overlooked when trying to get your followers. Instagram is essentially a friend-making forum and building bonds with real people will get your content shared even further (Instagram GOLD!) This makes it a two-way street and if you’re not a willing participant, you’re unlikely to go too far with your campaign.

What do you think? How have you grown your Instagram following? Let me know if there’s something obvious that I’ve missed because everyone has their own tried and tested methods and it’s awesome to share with you guys and get your insight too!

Well, i do not look for a following on Insta - but I like your re-post quality content idea

because i also do that on Tumblr, and it does work there.

Got any idea regarding a PC soft that would do that?

    cheers to NSW

      Hey, thanks for your message.

I don't use Tumblr but I did a quick search and it looks like Everypost will help you out - Social Media Platform App | Everypost. They have a free trial by the looks of it, so it could be a good way to suss it out if it works for you.

I am currently using Hootsuite which works brilliantly for me, but does not support Tumblr.

      Have a great day.

Thats all good and everything op but just based on the BELOW i wonder how much of your info is simply cut and paste from another forum. Regram is out of business. But thanks for the share lol O_o or should I say copy and paste

"Due to Instagram's latest API update (that's how we access your data), we've decided that Regram is no longer a useful application. As of today Regram is no longer functional and therefore we have removed it from the app store.

We thank our community of Regram users for the almost 5 years of posting"!!

I have been using Follow Liker for my Instagram and Twitter accounts. I do all those things on auto pilot and it has been giving me organic following and comments!

I believe it can also be used for Tumblr and other platforms as well.

    Check it out!

Awesome - how do you find the analytics for this?

It's super cheap compared with HootSuite (I think I am paying $15 US per month and I'm not able to get anywhere near as many social media platforms) - I'd be interested in finding out if anyone can offer any info on what the two are like feature-wise.

I'm very interested in checking this out for sure.
