Facebook Video Marketing 2021

Don't you just love prediction games? This is definitely not an easy job. Yet, someone has to do it. On the other hand, it's too bad we don't have enough time or patience to check out what happened to some of the most noticeable and controversial predictions. Is this Facebook-related one of them?

So, what is very likely to happen to Facebook five years from now? Well, the busy little bees working there have no doubts about it. By the year 2021, Facebook is going to be all mobile, and even more importantly all video. Why? Because, Facebook likes the follow the tide. It turns out that video material on Facebook generates a lot of activity, such as follow-ups and comments. Here's one more impressive number worth considering from the marketing point of view. Facebook users "consume" more than 100 million hours of video content on their mobile devices - daily!

So, what's in there for us - internet marketers?

Well, there's a will, there's always a way for Internet marketing to do its job. Video ads? Why not? My only concern that Facebook videos won't become painfully similar to YouTube ads. You can skip this ad and enjoy your video in 5 or 10 seconds. I sure hope Facebook can do much better than this. Yet, we have no other choice than to wait and see what is going to be. Five years give you plenty of time to prepare. Facebook video ads - how does this one sound to you?

What do you think the AdBlock penetration will be by then? Will we see sponsored content? I'm quite curious how will this evolve.

You're right something is going on. Have you noticed the "signs?"

You can no longer access Forbes without pausing or removing your AdBlocker first. Time Magazine is also talking about some AdBlock solution.

Yet, I read somewhere that is expected for video content to be the most popular mobile form online. Facebook has also signed hundreds of video production contracts with CNN, some celebrities, and similar. Why? They're paying hundreds of millions of dollars for video materials that would be used on Facebook live stream channel.

So, it's going to be an interesting period, undoubtedly. I'm an AdBlock user, but I'm worried that some of my favorite publishers are going to compromise on the quality. This isn't the good news, at all.

Thank you for your question, but I think we need to consult an expert here.

      My advice.

You should post a thread with this question in Social Media category, for example.

Although there are some video platforms on the rise, YouTube is still by far the dominant force in this industry with 75.1% share of the market. If you’re not convinced yet, check out these pretty impressive stats from their official statistics page:

There are over 1 billion users on YouTube. This means that 1 in every 3 people on the Internet uses YouTube.
300 hours of video is uploaded every single minute. But this was officially reported back in 2014. This has changed a lot since then. Judging by this forecast, as of 2015, 500 hours of video is uploaded to the website per minute!
4 billion video views are generated every day on the platform. However, this is another outdated information – which was released back in 2012. We can only assume how bigger this number is today – I’d say pretty close to Facebook’s 8 billion daily views.
Since 2014, the number of people who use YouTube daily is up by 40%.
YouTube is also the second-biggest search engine in the world, right behind Google. In 2014, Google decided to only show YouTube videos in the search. This is a great opportunity for content creators and advertisers to properly optimize their videos and increase their organic outreach. But maybe what matters the most for businesses, is that video ads in Google’s search results are now closer than ever. Google has been testing how video ads perform in the search for quite a while now. They will be a game changer if implemented permanently.
