It's weird--and worrying! It may well be the changes in the algorithm.

How long have you been regularly getting hundreds of new followers per day?

That's just the nature of social media sometimes. Some days I get 87 new subscribers to my Youtube channel, some days I get 6. It fluctuates.

I hope that that's the case.

I have only recently started getting lots of new daily followers. However, these past couple of days have been ridiculously low on likes and followers, as if something has dramatically changed.

That happens to me sometimes too -- I'll get a sudden spike in activity, then it settles back down. Later on I'll find out it's because someone popular Tweeted one of my videos, or one of them were shared on a forum or Facebook group. That'll usually do it. Maybe someone gave you a shout out which caused a brief surge of activity?

I did not see any such drastic decrease to my Instagram followers but it might be Instagram algorithm effecting your account.

I suggest you not to Post the same type of content again & again, make sure to responding to comments, update your profile regularly, use hashtags with unique relevant content.

  No your content hashtags should be unique hashtags that are related to your post content. It helps to improve SEO of you post to generate more traffic. So if you are selling product apply hashtags with product name, once your customer will perform a search they will land on your post.

try messaging someone with a big real following and ask for a shout out. People like that will usually give you a shout out for a fee.

You're not alone, same thing happened to me with two accounts around 30k. My biggest accounts. Hundreds of new followers everyday, then bam, zero organic growth overnight. Not sure what happened, but I'm back to square one with follow/unfollow to make my accounts grow again. Was not getting any shoutouts from any other accounts here.

I've noticed that engagement is down. It must be the new algorithm. Engagement is getting harder to come by. Organic reach will be like Facebook in the next year.

Do you follow people back?
What type of content are you giving?
How often are you posting per day?
Are you commenting on people's posts?

As mentioned it could be due to recent changes. Monitor your account and see if things pick up. Also this sounds familiar to me, a while back my accounts activity dropped off a lot and after trying to search for a solution it seemed that loads of people are having hashtag issues.

It seems to me that if you are constantly using the same hashtags especially if you use all 30 you are allowed all the time and never change them up a bit could be the cause. Try posting a pic like you normally do and then go to your post and click some of your hashtags and see if your post is showing up correctly. If it's not then try to redo the post. This time only use like 15 hashtags and change most of them to new ones and then post your pic and then again check your hashtags to see if your post is showing up and if so you know it was the hashtag issue.

This solved the problem for me and it took a while to figure it out but I don't have this issue anymore since changing up and reducing my hashtags. It's as if Instagram is thinking you are spammy for using the same 30 hashtags on every post so they limit you it seems. Give this a try and report back. I'm curious to see if this works for you also.

Same thing just happened to us, one day we was getting a lot of likes, down to 1 -3 likes... I wonder if it's because it's not set to a business page. We just made 100 post within a couple weeks. We tried to make it a business page... but it didn't recognize our fb page. It asked us to create new page to link to. Is this normal? Need help. We somewhat know how to maneuver through social media, but not really that savvy.
