Hi guys,

I'm looking to use Facebook to attract more people to my online guitar business.

I've been spending some of my advertising budget on targeted Facebook likes and have a fan base of about 400 people.

Can anybody recommend any other Facebook strategies to find your ideal customer?

-publish interesting posts and boost them for $5. if they are good you will get a lot of free organic traffic
-join other related Facebook pages and groups and engage with other users
-offer free lessons as a prize for contests/giveaways. gather their emails(these are far more important than getting likes for your page) and market your offer via email

Not a FB strategy, but an alternative way to sell . . . if you can put together a package of guitar lessons, text or video, you can sell it on places like JVZoo. You can get instant payments to PayPal, and affiliates can sell it for you too.

I wrote a dog-training Ebook for an IM method which lost money, then just put it on JVZoo, and have sold 211 copies over about 4 years, with zero additional effort.

So it can be a viable additional revenue stream !

  • If you have FB live, another great way is to offer video lessons, product demos or short concerts. FB live is getting a lot of attention now and it's still free.

    Is this a local business?
You could localise the hell out of your campaign on FB (and website). Remember to target under FB interests as guitar or music and related subjects. Try to get reviews on your Facebook page from people who are learning with you - it goes a long way.

It also might be worthwhile sticking up a few posters on local boards and asking local schools to have your leaflets on their desk.

Remember with anything local you will want to think about communities - churches, clubs, groups, local charity shops etc.

In terms of online, people are always looking for royalty free music to use in commercial projects. Create little pieces that can be used and sell them on places like Fiverr.

    Good luck!
