Facebook is popular social media than WhatsApp. Some extra activity we can do through Facebook. Like group creation.

Wats App: WhatsApp Messenger is a cross-platform mobile messaging app which allows you to exchange messages without having to pay for SMS. Where as Facebook is: a popular free social networking website that allows registered users to create profiles, upload photos and video, send messages and keep in touch with friends, family and colleagues.... one is instant messages the other is a social networking site with all the bells and whistles, in my opinions they are both vastly different for user experience and WatsApp is no where near as advanced.

Facebook on one hand is a social networking platform that connects You to people using it.
While Whats app is an instant messaging app that uses data to exchange text or multimedia messages who are using it.

You are in an XYZ high school and let's say 80%-90% people from that place have their user accounts on Facebook. So by creating Your own account, You can connect with them by sending or accepting friend requests. You can also chat with them. Same in terms of workplace.
While Whats app needs users' mobile numbers to get started. You register Your number, it's is verified and You are good to go. Once You're in, You'll be able to chat with people from Your contact list who have Whats app account. If You don't have someone's Whats app number, You can simply ask for it.

Facebook let's You upload pictures, videos, etc. Even Your personal information like workplace, school/college, email, phone number, hometown. Basically everything. You can select who can view Your photos and personal info by going through privacy settings. You can like, share, comment on others' posts.
On Whats app You can't upload photos, like or share anybody's pictures. You can upload a picture only once to set Your profile picture.

Facebook app is more data consuming.
Whats app consumes lesser data compared to Facebook.

If You choose to delete Your Facebook account. It stays there for a certain period of time(3-4months). If You change Your mind, You can simply sign in and continue using it.
Once You delete Your Whats app account. It is permanently gone. However, if You choose to use it again, You're gonna have to freshly register.

    Hashtags work on Facebook.
Hashtags don't work on Whats app.

You can create pages on Facebook. People who like the page will be able to see the posts on that page. You'll be able to see those posts on Your timeline once You like that page.
You can't create a page on Whats app. You can create a group instead of about 50-100 members. And You can share anything in that group.

There is a thing called timeline on Facebook that displays the posts from people who are in Your friend list, pages You have liked and Facebook groups that You are in. Basically, it is like viewing Your friends' recent activities.
There is no such thing on Whats app.

Facebook is available as an app and on site.
While Whats app requires an app. You can continue using Whats app on Your PC or laptop by choosing Whats app web.
