I have a Facebook group with 100s of photos and would like to start an Instagram acct. Problem is all photos are either on my Facebook group or my desktop. Being forced to do everything through smartphone only is killer for me.
#facebook #group #instagram #posts or photos #share

I don't think there is an easy way to post pictures from your group/desktop on your Instagram account, the only way to do it is by manually uploading each photo.

  • Yes, you need to upload all the photos manually on by one and don't forget to add the tags, so people can search your photos and hit likes!

you say add one by one, but not saying if i first need to transfer all fotos to my mobile prior to doing so. This would suck as phone memory wont hold. Instagram is owned by facebook and they still havent cared to figure out the customer benefits here.

Hi! I have the same dilemma too before but I found this cool windows app called InstaPic. It lets you post photos on instagram using your laptop or pc. And what I liked about it is that you can add more instagram accounts and switch to it anytime you liked. I am using windows 10 by the way and been using this app for 2 or 3 months already. Although, there was a time where I stopped using it coz I can no longer post photos from my laptop, but that was for a short time, coz they were upgrading the app and now it's back to normal. You can also like and comment to the photos there but I prefer to use the web-based instagram in liking and commenting as it is more convenient for me. I hope that helps.

    Hi Rocman,
I found this cool image which I think will answer your question perfectly! I've tried to upload it as an image but in case that doesn't work, a blog by @louiseM.com answers your question perfectly.

These apps allow you to schedule your posts from a desktop. I know scheduling wasn't your question, but desktop posting was:

    Later
    HootSuite
    ViralTag

And these apps post directly from your Desktop:
    BlueStacks
    Instapic for Windows
    Gramblr.

I'm actually going to try a couple of these myself as it's something that has bothered me for a while too.

It's a shame that now Facebook own Instagram that there isn't an option to share posts from Facebook to Instagram like you can do the other way around. Hopefully this will be an option one day in the future so you don't have to go to all the trouble of re-posting. Very annoying!
