    Hi Szaby,

A week isn't very long to test the reach and engagement so I wouldn't worry too much at this stage. Social media is a journey and your followers travel it with you, this means that over time, you will authentically grow a genuine audience when following some tried and tested techniques.

I'd recommend committing the next few weeks to some serious testing including times of day that you're posting, the type of content that you're posting (i.e pictures, funny quotes, videos, blogs and information posts) and analyse which ones perform the best.

Reducing the number of times you post may be an option if you're currently posting many times a day but it could just be the TYPE of content that you need to work on.

I'd also love to know which social media platforms you're talking about as the answer to your question will depend on if it's Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc etc...

The best thing you can do for social engagement anywhere is to know your audience. Social media is a time consuming effort so you must spend time in a consistent way, Post messages at times that your audience is likely to be online, provide valuable content, and make the conversation about them, not just your brand.

You need to spend more time on social media and give more efforts like knowing your target audience, interacting with them, cross promote on different social media, improve your posts, make the post that increase interaction.

    Hi Szaby,

I agree with wordsandthebees, do not give up! Engaging your customers takes time, and hard work and every business are different so there is no step-by-step manual to follow.

But there are things that you can do, combined with intuition and common sense; that may help you gain traction and start conversations in the social sphere.

Have you been listening to your audience? They can give you incredible insight via comments that they may leave, or hashtags. While a week isn't a huge amount of time, make sure you take the time to understand what your audience of followers want and test your posts to ensure you giving them what they need.

Have you tried asking questions to start conversations with your audience? Keeping your question open-ended, thoughtful, positive and relevant to your business will help you with engagement. You should also address and answer questions too to open the communication channels.

Have you made sure that your social media accounts and profiles are easy to find? Are the icons on your website and other digital communications so your customers can easily 'like' or follow you?

Have you started 'liking', following and engaging with other like-minded businesses? Doing this will expose you to people who are members of your industry and their customers. If you can tweet, blog or post about something maybe a competitor did and tag them in it then by sharing this will make a sense of community and then people may feel compelled to share your content too.

Effectively using social media will help your business immensely. Engaging customers will create sales and loyal customers. Social media tells the customer that you want to be involved, that you care about them and that you are listening.

Best of luck. I hope you have great success. It's not a quick process so you will need to be patient

Posts something interested to your followers. Ask some questions regarding your niche and keep an interaction with your followers. Do some contests that will help you to get more engagement with your followers.
