Promote Pet Photography

I'm rather new to the Internet marketing area, so forgive me if I go off track.

I've recently set up a pet photography website. The next step is to promote it.

I have someone setting up local area seo on the site. I'm thinking a business such as this would be better suited to socal media.

Setting up accounts in:
Pinterest
Flickr
Google plus
Instagram
with these platform's is it possible to use them as back links?

If I get time I'll do some YouTube clips.
Facebook has been set up, i'm using ppc to increase the likes.

I will start a blog. The idea of writing content is something I try to avoid.

Any help will be more than welcome. I think what I'm looking for is a step by step guide on best practice for a start up.

Even if you tell me I'm doing all wrong I'd rather hear that now.

Cheers

As you're just starting out, I wouldn't spread yourself too thin. I understand that you want to promote in all kinds of places and gain the back links for it - but running all these accounts could equal quick burnout.

I would suggest focusing on building up perhaps x2 platforms at a time - Facebook (as you've already started the PPC campaigns) and Instagram, because hell, anything to do with photography should go there.

In terms of the Facebook PPC Campaign, are you currently playing for likes or for clicks to your website? Because I would suggest to create content on your website first to retain visitors.

If you are primarily a local business, focus on localised campaigns when you run them - target local areas you are willing to travel to.

Facebook is a great place for anything pet related, their are many pet and animal related groups and pages to spread the word.
There will also (more than likely) be groups on Facebook for your local areas.

Start by creating content and scheduling social media updates on your two accounts using a tool such as Hootsuite. Focus on building community on those two accounts - which means engage with your audience on a regular basis, before branching out anywhere else.

Social media back links are at their most worthy when the account is popular - signals of this are engagement (likes, shares, comments), followers and other metrics such as this.

If you require any further help, feel free to inbox me.
I also run Facebook page based on a particular dog breed which may be of interest to you in the future.

Why don't you write, or hire someone to write, a short guide on how to photograph your pet with illustrations from the photographs you've taken. Use it as a giveaway to build your list.

You could also make a video from the those photographs using PowerPoint and a voiceover.

Since you are into photography, build your audience first in Instagram. When you have already established your reputation, create your FB page, G+ and Youtube profile. Upload regularly. Your video in youtube should highlight your happy clients and your best works.

    Hey Muzza65,

Instagram is the PURRFect (pardon the pun) place for you to get started and start posting your images there. Since Facebook Owns Instagram, you can actually link to your fan page and post to both at the same time. Another suggestion, would be to set up your Fan Page, Post content on there, and in Your Instagram Account, as your clickable link, put your Facebook Fan Page link. This will give you the opportunity to further engage with your potential clients. You can then offer them your services from your fan page. Another thing you may want to consider is running a contest on Instagram. Encourage people to Tag their friends and share your content, for a chance to win a photo shoot with you. This could help to increase your followers as well, all the while using the call to action to click the link in your bio to find out more.

You can also research other top accounts in your Niche and find the followers that are actively liking and commenting on their photos and start following the followers, as they are your potential audience as well. Hope that helps!

Instagram would be awesome for your Pet Photography business! They all would be beneficial, but Instagram would help show off your skills in photography because that's why people are on Instagram to look at photos. Good luck I hope all goes great with your business!

    Yeah don't over complicate things.
Also clear things do you want to rank your site on Search Engine? Or just behind traffic.

For ranking Pick some good keywords besides I feel it would be a bit difficult and if you are just behind traffic Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram is best to start with.

Use Ads over Facebook while over Instagram and Pinterest increase your audience. Pet niche works great over Instagram so you would not have any much issues.
