Exactly One Year & I have Instagram Accounts Approaching 1 Million Followers by end of this year

If I remember correctly, I started actively creating, posting, following, get followers, etc for my instagram accounts, end of August 2015. I start actively with one account and grow from there.
Fast forward today, I have more than 20 accounts in variety of niches, and I think, if combining all the total followers (simple calculation) approaching 1 Million by end of this year. I haven't really counted exactly though.
I have several niches including scenery, cars, cats, motivations, house, religion, men style, luxury, comic, babies, arts, facts and several more.
I also almost don't believe that I am currently at this stage. I am thinking of creating my own business about instagram marketing and seminar in the near future.
When talking about getting followers, people will say "just follow people" and we will "get followed back". Yes, it may be right at some point. But it is not just simple "follow". There is a technique to get followers that are active and highly engaged with our post. Also I can safely say that the best way to get quick followers is to get our post in the "Popular" section and/or Top Posts in Hashtags.
When one of my instagram account post get to popular section, I could get about 1,000-2,000+ new followers per day. But that's not highest though because I can see some other accounts get 3,000-5,000 new followers per day. I even noticed there was one account that I monitor that grew about 2k-5k new followers per day. If I remember correctly the account became from nobody to 100k followers in only about 1month just by getting the post at the popular section or Top Posts every single day !
Even if not getting our post at the popular section, we can also get our posts in the "Top Posts" in popular hashtag like #Nature, #Vacation, #Pet, #Travel, #Fact, #Cat, #Baby, #Research, #Marketing, #News, #Study #Clothes, #Car, #Sports, etc

- Top 1 in the Hashtag #Learning with over 3.4 Millions posts
- Top 1 in the Hashtag #Knowledge with over 3.4 Million posts
- Top 1 in the Hashtag #Discovery with almost 1 Million posts
- Top 1 in the Hashtag #Research with almost 1 Million posts
- Top 2 in the Hashtag #Kitten with million of posts
- Top 3 in the Hashtag #Study with more than 6.8Million posts
- Top 3 in the Hashtag #Kitty with more than 27Million posts
- Top 4 and Top 6 in the Hashtag #How with more 1.7 Million posts (two different account)
- Top 5 in the Hashtag #News with over 5.4Million posts
- Top 5 in the Hashtag #Learn with more than 2.8Million posts
- Top 6 in the Hashtag #Fact with over 4.6 Million posts
- Top 6 in the Hashtag #HowTo with over 589k posts
- And many more...
Please note that the positions keep changing though, as we post new image, the post may be overwritten by our own post. Or position get overwritten by other people's new post, etc
Please note also that for every post in your instagram account, you can include hashtags in the caption (just similar to tags in your website or blog posts). And maximum you can include is 30 hashtags.
Well, talking about hashtag too, it is the same like those who want to target SEO for their website. You can target high competition keyword to get high traffic (if success) or zero traffic due to the difficulty to get ranked for the high competition keyword. Or you can target medium to low competition keyword for easy ranking but only medium number of traffic if success (because not so many searches).
The same thing here for hashtag, you can target high competition if you are confident your post will get high engagement (high likes and comments) or just target medium to low competition hashtag for easy ranking.
From my own research, in order to get at the Top Posts or in the Popular page, we need to get certain number of likes for our new posts within specific time frame which I can't reveal here And how to get that high number of likes, that's another story. And if we can get many comments also, is an added advantage.
Some of my accounts can get 10-20% engagement. That's pretty good and may help my new posts to get in the Popular section or Top Posts in our chose hashtags
Well, personally my highest account is ~ 100k followers. The rate of new followers is about 500-1.2k per day. It is in the cat niche. Anybody in pet or cat niche here interested? or any Vet or pet shop owner here? Maybe we can discuss if wanna take over this instagram account for instant credibility and authority of your business, apart from contributing to subscribers/leads for your products and services.
Anyway, whatever it is, I don't really consider myself an expert because when you are in the instagram 'game', you will notice there are so many other people that are far away and much better than you. That's what I feel. I feel jealous when seeing people with over 1Million followers, and people with just 50k followers but got engagement rate of 30-60% ! Yeah, that kind of accounts do exist !
