Since you have a social media profile that means you will gain new followers everyday so posting old contents would be a good option to show your contents.

Feel free to post old stuff.

Especially on pinterest I think that is totally fine. Also Instagram would be fine (but less frequent than pinterest).
Would not want to see the same on facebook again and again though.

If you tweeted or pinned something, it doesn't mean that all your followers noticed it.

For example, on Twitter go to Analytics and see the reach of your tweets. Even if that reach includes the views from searches, I bet you'll be surprised (unless you have very few followers anyway). Usually maximum 10% of your followers see a certain tweet.

If you add the fact that you also got new followers, then you already know the answer to your question

  • It doesn't take much effort to modify old posts. Why not change the caption or do some minor image edits to make old posts "new"?

  • Yes, I do but rarely as the content I share is generally independent of old tweets, however If I feel like the old tweet is relevant, I do re-tweet or modify the old tweet's content to make it relevant somehow for the new tweet. Gosh...so many tweets......

You can modify a little bit/edit your post, you can also add a new caption to it.

How often do you repost old articles/stuff on Facebook?

    What about on Pinterest?

Yes, you can repin and retweet your old popular posts, it's an amazing way to promote your old content to your new followers and engage them with the quality posts.

I think reposting old content in the different social media platforms is not a problem as long as there's already a huge gap of time before you repost. Chances are some people have already forgotten what you posted before. Also, I think you have to choose what you repost and be sure if it's interesting. If it's not, who the hell cares? It will be buried with other people's posts soon That's what I always say to myself if I have misspelled something in social media and can't take it back. hehe Just please, people! Don't call out that wrong spelling. Hush!

I agree with others that once in a while retweetting old content or reposting it doesn't hurts anybody but i always post new content.

I repost if it's a wonderful memory I'd like to share with my friends/followers. If not, you can always come up with something new or different to share old content.
