Probably doing Facebook Remarketing Wrong - please help

Hi, guys,

I get a decent amount of traffic from organic google clicks. And that traffic doesn't convert well to subscriptions, as it's mostly people who go read article then hit the "back" button.

But those people are still interested in my field... so I'm still interested in them.

So, I decided to run a facebook remarketing campaign to get them to go back to the homepage (which is a page that converts well.)

The problem?

I run an ad, I get great traffic, subscriptions, and even sale. A few days go buy, and that ad no longer pulls any traffic. It dips so low that I have to create a NEW ad, which does exactly the same thing: great at first, then the clicks stop coming and it dips.

Am I doing something wrong or does this happen to everyone?

Details: I'm running a "results based: website clicks" remarketing campaign. And the engagement rate is encouraging: 6 to 7%. So what the hell? )

Please help clarify this situation. Thanks a lot.

    Hi,

I guess, you have to change settings in your audience - put maximum allowed number here: 180 days

Thanks, rmoney - but that's already the case for me.

Also - my remarketing audience is at 82,000 people, is that too small?

Normally when I do remarketing on FB when creating an ad, ( I do 1 day and 20 days) you should select the option impression and serve this ad to every single person.

This makes sure your ad is being seen by everyone. The downside is if one has a small audience they will see the ad 4.5,6,7,8 times.

Hmmm, yea that's something I'll try: focus on impressions, not results:website clicks. Worth a try. Thanks, MagicD

That is actually a typical bell curve for ads. One thing you could do is shorten the ad length (less days) you can also show different types of retargeting ads: a similar product, social proof, more information about whatever you offer.

You can also try different types of ads such as boosting a post (video) vs website conversion ad.
