Marketing using twitter - simple questions

Hey guys
I have a simple question regarding promoting my site on twitter, I want to use my twitter account exclusively for marketing purposes and barely any social activity since I don't expect to receive many messages there.
My plan is to target specific hashtags within my niche and tweet once or a few times(not spamming) each day with a catchy headline & a link to my site.

I'm wondering if using twitter this way could cause the account to become subject to limitations of any kind.
Also, are there any reasons for deleting my older tweets(and by older I mean for example from a day or few days before)? Is it actually any beneficial to keep those tweets if I don't mainly focus on creating a twitter following? For example increased reach when targeting hashtags, or any benefits of having a link(shortened by bitly) to my site in a larger amount of tweets?

Although some tweets will be with intention to get followers, for the most part I'll only use it to send people to my site.

Would be great to get any tips from people who use twitter this way, but all responses are welcome!

RE: "target specific hashtags within my niche and tweet once or a few times (not spamming) each day with a catchy headline & a link to my site."

-You can attach relevant hashtags to your tweet. But avoid or be careful about replying or @mentioning users directly with your links, especially if they don't follow you.

-You can 'like' accounts in your niche that tweet on the hashtags in your niche to get their attention. Keep posting interesting tweets, compelling images about your products so they would be interested in following you.

RE: Also, are there any reasons for deleting my older tweets (and by older I mean for example from a day or few days before)?

-I don't usually delete older tweets but you can modify your new tweets to avoid "posting duplicate updates" which twitter considers as a spam.

    RE: link (shortened by bitly)
-This will just provide you with helpful info on the location of people who interact with your tweets so you can see if you are reaching people who are your target market.

Other tip would be to regularly check your top tweets in twitter analytics so you can post similar style of content that is popular to your audience.

If you are using twitter to drive traffic to your site make sure to post relevant, engaging, entertaining content that appeals to your target audience. Visual content ( infographics, videos) receive more engagement on average.

Social media is for sharing and caring...
If you only share, you are wrong...
Without caring you can't go far. I mean you must need to share others content if they are interested and valuable.

Peoples loves funny content and humor so you must need to post funny content along with niche content.
