How can I use Facebook as an effective marketing tool?

Hey everyone! So I posted the other day asking about what the best social media marketing options are. Based on the feedback, we are deciding to start with Facebook as our main social media platform. This is because the customer base for our service is pretty broad. It will hopefully be useful for anyone over 18 years of age (no, it is not an adult service, it is just not something that a lot of under 18 people would need to make use of).

And I will apologize again for not being super specific about our service and product. We are still growing and are cognizant of protecting our ideas so I am just trying to be mindful of that, I am not trying to be difficult. I understand that can impact the type of advice I will receive. But I digress.

So far, we are liking what we are seeing on Facebook. It seems people will be able to give reviews on our service, our customer response time is monitored, and there are ad purchasing options that may be useful. We really like the ease in which customers can reach out to us or comment on that service (which of course can be a blessing and a curse but I think as long as one's business is an upstanding one, negative comments can be properly addressed).

What I am specifically wondering about is what other useful aspects are out there to help promote your product or service on Facebook that we are not yet picking up on? For example, is cross-promotion a big thing with Facebook pages? Would it be weird if we private messaged like-minded companies, brands, or services to ask about being in their similar pages list? Is that even something the page creator can influence or is that a pure Facebook algorithm thing?

Thanks in advance for your help!

if you are ready to spend a few bucks then go for facebooks targeted ads that can help you.
you need not to apologize for not telling a lot about your business as anyone with a business understanding can know the reason for you not tellng all about your business ideas on a public forum. best of luck!

Facebook is definitely a good choice for a first social media network, but there are some very distinct challenges. For starters, Facebook has certain algorithms which can make it incredibly difficult to get your posts seen if you don't pay for advertisements. Luckily you don't usually have to pay much to get great effects--spending $5-15 per day on Facebook ads can spur on massive growth if you take the time to create high quality ad campaigns. Even spending $10 per week on a single ad can put your post in front of hundreds of people, although how much mileage you get for your money will depend partially on your business.

As for cross promotions & similar companies -- I'm pretty sure the "similar companies" thing is a Facebook algorithm. You may be able to influence it by improving the description of your company on the Facebook page. I've never personally private messaged company pages to ask them about doing cross promotions, but I don't see any reason not to. The main reason I haven't in the past is because I usually do cross promotions with small businesses and solopreneurs, so I'm usually connected to the owner of the business and messaging them personally.

I think it's the best marketing tool out there to get the likes of the people and spread the word. The main thing is how you end up utilizing this opportunity for your own advantage. For me, I love making short video clips to portray a simple message without relying too much on text based description. Images and video clips have a greater tendency to be absorbed by the human brain therefore a greater chance to achieve better engagement and conversion rates. Facebook advertisements can also bump you up among a particular demographic you desire to target. Also try using Facebook live feature as well to give out weekly updates to your clients. It will develop trust and promote a culture that you care about what your clients are looking for.

    Cheers
