Promoting products on Facebook

Promoting products on Facebook is one of the biggest challenges we marketers have to face, customers dont answer as they used to do to the classic post with a photo of the product and the price, so we need to think in creative ways for doing this job.

This are some ideas that have been working for me:

Ask Fans to Show Their Love for Your Products

A user-generated content campaign is all about asking for and sharing your customers content. People love taking photos and videos of the stuff they love, so treat each sharer like a brand ambassador.

Whether customers are wearing, using, or just chatting about your products, their photos and videos can showcase your products in an authentic way and help you reach a wider audience. UGC also gives current customers new ideas for using your products and helps inspire prospects to make a purchase.

The best way to get UGC is to come right out and ask for it. For example, you might offer fans an incentive to post photos, such as a giveaway contest where people need to take a photo with your product to enter. You could also offer a special discount for fans who share their photos on Facebook using your campaign hashtag. Its all about letting fans know you want to share their content.

Incentivize Word-of-mouth Referrals

Customer referrals are one of the best ways to reach people who share common interests with your current customers.

If you want to start a loyalty program for your business, look for a program that allows you to reward a variety of customer actions. Among those actions, you should be able to reward customers for referring friends to your business by sharing your page with their Facebook friends. Now thats a great reason to share!

Build Trust With Ratings and Reviews

If youve already built a great following on your Facebook page, dont be afraid to ask your fans for a rating or review on your page. Just be sure to do it in a non-intrusive way and without offering incentives, to follow Facebooks Community Guidelines.
Even just a few 5-star ratings can do a lot for your Facebook page and improve your search engine results. Reviews can show up in search results when people are searching for more information about your business. Thats especially important when most shoppers are doing their research and say that reviews have an impact on purchase decisions.

Target Prospects With Facebook Ads

Retargeting ads and lookalike audiences are great news for ecommerce, especially when it comes to posts about new products or promoting existing product pages with the Website Clicks ad format.

You can use your own company data to target audiences similar to your current buyers. If youve collected email addresses from your customers, import your list of email addresses into Facebook to create lookalike audiences. Its a great way to target similar demographic profiles. Keep in mind, however, that some of the email addresses you have on file may not match the email addresses in peoples profiles.

What other techniques are you using form promoting products on Facebook? lets share our experiences in this post!

Here's what I have learned through FB ads:
    1. It should be bite sized. Social media is not meant for long boring talks. Your ad must convey succinctt information in least possible words.
    2. Your Ad must tingle high arousal emotion. For example happiness is low arousal motion. Joyness, delightment, and excitment is a high arousal emotion. Try hit these emotionals strings.

    3. It should be visually creative. There is a bad news for copywriters here. Fb ads' performance is more of visual satisfaction rather than reading soothness. Image is the first thing your prospect will encounter. Make sure it haunts them.

I am conducting 5 FREE copy consultations till New Year...Jump onto my bandwagon while you still can..

Thank you all for your advices, I already knew many of the things you have mentioned, but they were good comments anyway.

    Somethings im currently thinking about:

What do you think would be the right way to promote products through ads? Do you have any previous experience with that? It would be great if you share them!:

I would also love to know if you have some experience with tracking urls and Facebook pixel, I didnt get a shot to try those features so far, and I would love if you could give me some insight on them, specially on how they can be used for products promotions.
