How Many Social Media Platforms Do You Recommend To Use?

Because the average newbie starts out as a one-man band and building a tribe through social media has become more integral for an online business long-term, what do you think would be a manageable strategy starting out?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I've gone through the All-In-One thread regarding social media, but they focus mostly on spreading a large net which would be overwhelming for even the most seasoned veteran, let alone a newbie.

For me, it has been facebook, twitter, LinkedIN.

I would really focus on just two or three--and really get them going before you branch out.

As, like you said, most of us when we start out in our quest to make money online are one-man-bands.

    Hope-this-helps.

    I personally use 4:

Google+ - I post all sorts of blog posts and articles on the communities
LinkedIn - I use it a lot and re-purpose posts and articles on the blog section
Facebook - I post on there frequently
    Twitter

My personal take, is to write a series of articles on a particular subject of marketing and then post them as articles. Later I'll take those in series and make an e-book out of them and give out the branded version to potential clients.

Write a lot and be as pro as possible; you never know who is watching you.

    God Bless,

    Elmo

IMO keep it super simple. Focus on ONE social media platform when starting out. Master it then move on.

    Here's a possible strategy:

    1. Start with ONLY Facebook.
    2. Purchase Brett Rutecky's "Group Traffic Profits" on JVZoo and implement what he teaches.

He has mastered tribe building and is profiting big time in his Facebook group. He teaches you how to do it profitably (like he is). I think it's best to learn from people who have what you want and this guy has what you want (if I'm interpreting your question right).

Facebook isn't going anywhere for a long time so it could very well be a solid investment of your time and money.

    Best of luck!
    Reid

You should focus on one and build out from there.

I think Facebook is the easiest start with your own group. If you want to really see how it's done check out this guy on Facebook called Chris Green, he is championed in the reseller space.

I find it really depends on your niche and the nature of your business or website. Not every platform is applicable to every business and some work better than others.
