I am intimidated by facebook (posting worthy content)

I only recently started using facebook, but its not the platform itself that I find intimidating. Its my ability to come up with content for it, that helps to build up my facebook page. Into something that will eventually get me more sales. Where do you guys get content? As I've said in a few other threads, I'm just starting out at this point. So my ability to post relevant content to facebook, is not so great. I'm fine at posting things that make me look human, and not just some salesman that is constantly saying "Buy my stuff". But that is the easy part.

I post things here and there about boating trips, my dog, family and friends, the usual stuff. Got no problem coming up with that. What I am intimidated by, is having to come up with something relevant to my industry that won't make me look dumb, since I am indeed a newb. How did you guys overcome this hurdle?

As for me, I come up with my own content. But if what I do is not applicable to you for now, why not post niche-related content coming from an authority source?

Well that is part of what I'm confused about.

      1. What would you consider an authority source?

      2. Am I actually allowed to do that? Are there any copyright concerns?

Hey bud, sorry for the late response.

        1. An authority source is a website or page that you believe ranks at the top of the niche it is in. It has the authority to influence people, and get people's attention and trust.

For example, what comes to mind when you think of a place to online shop? Amazon, or eBay right?

        2. It's all about permission and credits. As long as you do these, I don't think there would be a problem.

Yep, I think posting niche-related content coming from an authority source is a great way to build up the site. I would also be sure to include a photo or something visual with the post since Facebook is a visual platform.

I find, as well as many others, that photos work well with short captions...People are instinctively visual by nature, so using photos related to your genre works well.

Check out similar niches or come up with it yourself. This is where you really separate yourself from others and will show whether or not you can succeed. In order to give more information to you would require you to expose your niche.

Well my niche is up in the air right now, and I may go with another one lol. But for now I'm testing the waters with used car lots. Not new car lots, or even new car lots that like to sell used cars. Only those small-medium sized businesses that note out cars.

Basically I want their advertising business. And I want to do it through digital marketing. So as we all know, the facebook page does help generate business. Its a big part of it these days.

But, its also something else as well. Its also an image. So if I do a cold email campaign, and I get a few guys that are interested in my services, maybe they want to check me out a bit first. That's the smart thing to do right? Its what I'd do. So they say "Who is this justin lackey guy..." and they go to my facebook page. I need to look like I'm very active in the industry, and know what I'm talking about. I need to look like I can help. (as well as look like a real human being, but I've got that part covered)

So I need to find a worthy source of relevant information or articles related to marketing specifically in the used car business. Something I can post up every day, to keep my facebook timeline growing. I can tell that you're right when you say "this is where you'll separate yourself from the rest" because its actually been something of a task to try and find worthy content to post on facebook. Then again I am new at all this, so maybe that's a factor here.
