Results are in using Buffer to automate social media

Hello,
Been using Buffer for month. Since I run two companies I was looking for ways to cut down on daily grind of posting to my social media accounts( facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest & musical.ly). Thats when I discovered Buffer which automates for all of them except musical.ly.

After one month of using Buffer here was our outcome. Engagement remained constant on Facebook & Twitter. However, we saw 60% decline on Instagram & 50% decline on Pinterest.

Now Mari Smith (popular FB expert) was reporting close to 70% decline when she tested. Because she is so popular Buffer really went after her asking her to prove with evidence that social media networks algorithm were penalizing 3rd party software. So she backed off her stance or rather reworded it to say that she felt the 3rd party software limited how she could post content and that it looked canned and thus received lower engagement.

In my case, my content did not change while using buffer so its my feeling that those two social media channels (Instagram & Pinterest) are absolutely punishing 3rd party apps.

I am curious what other who used Buffer experienced.

Thanks
C

Just spent last few hours finding alternative. Here is what I did:

    1) Get Trello (its free).
    2) Set up social media content calendar for entire month (I have 8 different social accts).

It took me hours to find Trello and it looks like perfect Buffer replacement (I painfully went thru bunch of crappy excel template downloads and even tried Evernote). Don't waist your time just get Trello and set month up. It will still require me to spend about an hour a day to manually post. But hard work is done by setting up calendar for month and then it just becomes copy-paste-post. Best part is I will no longer need to watch algorithm do a dance on my head.

You clearly have not used Trello.

Trello is more like to-do / project management tool. Buffer is more like a one platform to post to all social media sites. Completely two different things!
