General Pinterest Questions \ Issues...

Hey, really appreciate that forums like this exist, especially as a rookie who is about to live up to that title with a few basic questions about Pinterest... They're on the nose granted, but I'm just trying to understand the basics to get going.

So first, if I get notified that someone saved a pin from one of my boards, does that mean they visited my board \ profile? If I pin a pic from a board \ field that interests me, how is it linked back to my profile? And what is the difference, if any, between a comment or a description on a pic I pin?

Also with the share plugin, if people pin a pic from my site but it's a pic I got from another site, does it link back to my site? And with my own pics, do I simply pin them to my boards to get them submitted to pinterest or upload them?

Sorry in advance if these questions were redundant or eye rollers, but I just want to make sure I'm using this site to the fullest! Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Here are some answers to your questions:

    1. I get notified that someone saved a pin from one of my boards, does that mean they visited my board \ profile? No. Not necessarily... Most chances they saw the pin on their feed (In Pinterest, just like in Facebook, most pinners do not visit the individual profiles, or boards, but they see the pins on their feed, because your pins have been repinned by a "joint contact"... If your pin board and the pin description are good, then there is a certain chance that people who saw the pin will also take the bother of visiting the board (Especially if there's something there for them... Like "ideas to plan your wedding" and so on)...

    2. If I pin a pic from a board \ field that interests me, how is it linked back to my profile? The pins which you repin into your boards show on the feed of your followers, as well as in the feed of people who show interest in this topic. The more you share relevant and quality pins, the more they will appear on the feeds of various people, with a link to you and to the board where you pinned them to...
Again : People do not bother to visit somebody's profile, or board, unless you give them a truly good reason to do so... However, if you upload lots of quality pins of your own, people will click on them and go to your website / blog.

    3. The "pin it buttons" link the pins to the webpage they were taken from ! If you pin it from a page on your website - The pins will be linked to that page !

I sometime upload free photos to my website and then pin them to pinterest ( There are many public-domain photos and royalty free pics... You upload them to your website / blog, and then you pin them from there, so the pin takes visitors to your page !

Thanks and all the best, Roni

@RoniShwartz - Hi, thanks for the reply! (But where did the last two weeks go?!) Simple as all this is I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the concept clearly. Like I'm user X and here's a funny \ hot \ interesting pic I found from website Y... I pin it, and it takes people back to my site, BUT, people have to see the pic in their feed \ search \ my profile first right?

And you read my mind, finding good pics that are free but take people back to your site... Where I'm guessing you would want to be the first to do so so it will bring you visitors.

Also, if I have a bunch of blog posts I wrote, and put a pic on that page, and pin it to pinterest, that will link it back to my site? How does it get in the general feed? (And please forgive me everyone if I'm asking the same question in a different way!)

Okay, doing better Pinterest wise, but still have a few questions, better refined to embarrass me less this time!

How do new pins get in Pinterests feed? (If I'm asking that correctly.) Also, why aren't my comments showing up on the pins I comment on? They seem to disappear soon after. And finally, will I get notified if someone saves one of the pins from my site \ or boards?

      Thanks again!

If I were you I would head over to warrior plus, search seller sojourn, and purchase either pinfabulous or pinplosion, better yet get both. After going though both those programs you will probably not have any more pinterest questions

Hey, sorry for the delay but thanks for the reply! Great stuff for sure, I'm leaning toward pinplosion, as just reading through the description and first few comments shows me it's the real deal. I'll read more tomorrow, as there's always that fear it's not real, but either way I appreciate the help. Did you give it a try?
