What else apart from YouTube?

I have around 90,000 subscribers on my YouTube language learning channel. I tend to put out a few videos a week with a link to my site, where I sell the full courses.

1. Any suggestions on other ways to gain more sales from subscribers?
2. What other social media works well for this kind of thing? I have not found Facebook very useful in the past, in terms of building up a following or getting views.

Thanks for any help.

Do you have an affiliate or referral program?

That could be one way to grow sales via subscribers who may not purchase themselves but refer others.

You could offer a free full course to subscribers who refer a certain number of paying customers.

Are there any other subscriber benefits or incentives?

Think about offering incentives to go from subscriber to opt-in to a mailing list and then market to them.

Have you considered retargeting the Youtube traffic? You can do this through adwords.

With the kind of numbers you got the retargeting will yield some positive benefits and is still relatively cheap to implement.

    Best regards,

    Ozi

What about Instagram? I read that Instagram is really hot right now.The traffic is good quality too. Search for language related hashtags on Instagram. Open up a language account then start a following by sharing some short video clips of your videos you have on Youtube and put your Youtube channel link in your account profile.

I am sure there will be lots of interesting people on there that will follow you.

Just my 2c. Hope it can help you get more buyers and subscribers.

I'd focus on what you're doing well already before trying something else. Are you using YT's end card feature to get viewers to your own email optin pages so you can follow up?

I haven't used the end card yet because it means I will lose the annotation which links straight to my site.

End cards (and cards) can also link directly to your associated websites. Plus, cards and end cards are mobile friendly, while annotations are not...which means probably 60+% of your viewers can't even click to your website if you're using annotations even if they wanted to.

When you have a product built that allows you to acquire new customers without a significant increase in the amount of time you have to put into the business - you're ahead of the game.

I'm assuming you have some type of training videos or software that you can sell over and over again.

If so, an affiliate program makes a lot of sense. Tap into the audience of related websites and businesses.

It would also make a lot of sense to acquire contacts with retail outlets or services like DirecTv or Vivint or emergency responders (police, ambulance, firefighters) or hospitals where a basic understanding and the ability to communicate could have a huge impact on success.

Keep solving viewer probs, keep growing your email list, and place a heavier emphasis on blogging - even if you just embed your latest vids and publish as posts - because a well-stocked, helpful self-hosted Wordpress blog will help boost your conversions and sales pronto.

Start building a presence on Pinterest if you haven't already. Set up a business profile - not personal. If you do some searches for things like "learn spanish" - you will see many popular pins. Take notice on what is pinned by users - lots of infographics. Take notice of what successful competitors on Pinterest are doing with their types of pins and boards.

Yes you can pin your Youtube videos but make sure the image used is good. Pinterest is working on their own native video player so eventually you will be able to upload directly there. They announced it last August but I don't see it available yet in my accounts.

A pin on Pinterest can generate you traffic for extended periods of time (unlike a Facebook post). There are buyers there!

When you say 'subscribers' ... are you referring to Channel subscribers or you maintain auto responder list??
If you have an autoresponder & referring to that, try to join a few affiliate networks & promote the offers to your list.
Based on what you mentioned ... why would some one have to go & buy something when you are already teaching them for free. Check your sales pitch in your videos. If you have already gotten some sales ... reach out to them & ask how they are doing & what else you could help them with ...

Its very nice if you have such a great number to YouTube followers for your channel. Apart from this you can use Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn for quality website traffic.

My suggestion would be to build an email list. You've got an audience. Now you can build up the know-you, trust-you, want-to-buy-more from you factor by starting an email list. Because when you show up in the inbox, you have more control over what you offer based on what you see people opening, clicking and replying to you about. Since you put a few videos to your list each week, I would encourage you to test once a week with a link to an optin page where you can give away a slice of a course for free in exchange for their name and email. Pick your most popular selling course and slice off a few minutes as a free sample, just like they do in the grocery stores to get people to try a little bit. Then, riding along with that slice, include a link to buy your course that they can click on. By then, you'll have more interest in someone to buy... so the test delays the link you'd have in your youtube rather than replaces it... so it should not feel too big of a change to you or to your youtube subscribers.

An affiliate program can make you more sales. Be sure to have upsells within your funnel to maximize the leads you're going to get.

    90,000 subscribers! Wow!

The best suggestion would be this.

Build up your email list. Offer a lead magnet for your niche which you will be able to easily churn out based on your experience. A nice 5 to 10 page pdf will do the trick.

With that number of subscribers, I am sure you will be able to build up a significant amount in no time.

After they have opted in, send one email a day to them. In every email, remind them to visit your main page where you sell the full course.

When you do not know what to write to them, you can send them to your old Youtube Videos - this increases traffic to your video which will help you to rank your videos...and your videos might get shared which means more traffic to your old videos and it can get redirected to your page selling the full course too.

Regarding other social media platforms, instagram and pinterest looks like they are gaining a lot of traction at the moment.

A lot of good suggestions are already been given by my fellow warriors. So I won't repeat them.

You already have a solid subscriber base and now need to convert it into buyers. For that publish a video asking your subscribers the reasons why they are not able to learn Spanish. They will give you some of the obvious reasons like no time, its hard, etc. etc. Look for the most common reason why they fail and create a course on how to overcome that obstacle and learn Spanish.
Announce that course through YouTube by iterating their obstacles and how your course will be able to solve it. If you make it easy for your subscribers to learn Spanish faster, they will buy your courses. You can up-sell your existing courses to them later.

Also you can give away exclusive study materials through your newsletter. Bribe your viewers by offering this exclusive study material and let them know they will get it free if they sign up to your newsletter.

Try and get as many viewers to sign up to your newsletter. Use a pop up on your website asking your visitors to signup. Most of the subscribers in your channel will be free loaders. People who give you their email address are much more valuable than millions of YouTube subscribers. They are the one who trust you and you can use that trust to sell your courses.

If you haven't started creating an email list, start immediately. Your account on YouTube is at the mercy of Google. Any change they make might cause your channel to suffer. So it is better to have the email addresses of your viewers.

Another suggestion is to publish case studies of your subscribers who benefited from your videos. Ask them to share their story and you can publish it to gain more credibility.

    These are just my opinions.

    Regards Fred

You could run google ads providing the traffic is targeted. Also you could try building an email list to affiliate your products or offers.

I know building a list takes time but its a proven method in getting targeted traffic to your product/offer.

    vimeo is good.

but in the end, you need to tie it all in with socail media, and at the end of the day, try to get all your viewers on your list.

I found that youtube does not send enough emails....its erractic.

So if you have them on your list you can send them to new VIDS you upload and they will get the emails, and you will get more VIEWS and SALES....

Even if we were not talking about videos....i would be telling you to build your list, but doing this first, is how you can get even better results from YOUTUBE and other video channels.

Its getting harder to rank youtube videos, but I can tell you that if you have them in your list first, you can send them anywhere.....and the view rate will GO UP, i have find!!! Make them one of the people in your audience first.
