For business purposes and customer relations, it is recommended to make a page. You can boost your posts, you can setup an answering bot, the interface is made for easy advertising and promotion.

Groups are for organizations, clubs, etc. Where-in members can discuss and make threads. Online meetings, polls and you can set-up meeting schedules there.

Using a group just for optional customer seems counter-intuitive since after you've dealt with the customer accordingly you would have to kick them from the group. Such a hassle.

For the inner workings of your business make a group. For advertising, promoting and entertaining queries, make a page.

    Hope I helped.

Best is to go with a page since you are doing business with them if you had something where you were going to network with those users on future then group can be useful.
